We are looking for a Robotics Software Engineer with 2+ years of experience building software for real-world robotic or edge systems. This person will design and ship robust perception and localization systems that run directly on our tractor-mounted camera devices, helping us turn raw sensor data into actionable intelligence for farmers. You will be a core member of the Camera Perception team, owning production code that is deployed in the field and directly impacts how farms operate at scale.

Responsibilities

  • Team Ownership & Delivery: Own end-to-end production code for perception/tracking/localization – from sensor fusion to deployment on edge hardware. Drive velocity in minimal-review, high-ownership culture.
  • Core Robotics Development: Build robust systems fusing GNSS/IMU/depth/stereo for precise farm mapping; computer vision pipelines detecting/tracking fruit, trees, conditions from large-scale video streams.
  • Edge Optimization: Write efficient Python/C++ for Jetson-class embedded systems under real-world constraints (power, heat, vibration, dust).
  • Full-Stack Robotics: Contribute across perception/inference, sensor processing, networking, on-device infra – unblock teams through prototypes and refactors.
  • Startup Impact: Ship code that directly powers customer farms; iterate rapidly based on field data to improve accuracy/reliability at scale.

Ideal Qualifications

  • 2+ years robotics software engineering focused on perception/localization (3+ preferred).
  • Generalist edge robotics experience building/deploying on resource-constrained devices.
  • Worked at early-stage high-growth startup + top-tier autonomy/robotics (Skydio, Waymo, Cruise, Zoox, Flock Safety).
  • High-caliber background (top school, early startup engineer).
  • Must commit to full-time on-site SF/Seattle; mission-driven for food security (not trends/hype).
  • Track record of fast deployments, high ownership in ambiguous environments.

Key Skills & Technologies

Hard Skills:

  • Computer vision for robotics (object detection/tracking/SLAM).
  • Sensor fusion (GNSS, IMU, depth cameras).
  • Edge optimization (Python/C++, NVIDIA Jetson/embedded Linux).
  • AI/ML tools (Claude for coding a plus).

Technologies:

  • Languages: Python, C++.
  • Robotics: ROS/ROS2 preferred.
  • Vision/ML: OpenCV, PyTorch/TensorRT, ONNX.
  • Edge: CUDA, TensorRT, GStreamer.
  • Infra: Docker, networking protocols.
