Role summary

BrainChip is seeking an ASIC Program Manager for a 6-month contract role focused on AI hardware development. This hybrid position requires onsite work 2-3 days per week in Laguna Hills, CA. The role involves end-to-end program execution from architecture through production, focusing on tapeout readiness, schedules, and cross-functional alignment within a semiconductor environment. Responsibilities include managing the full silicon lifecycle, coordinating hardware and software teams, risk management, and establishing KPIs. The ideal candidate has 7+ years of experience in ASIC program management, proven tapeout leadership, and a strong understanding of the silicon development process.

At BrainChip, we’re building a new class of AI hardware. Our neuromorphic processors are designed for real-time, ultra-efficient intelligence at the edge.

We’re looking for an ASIC Program Manager to lead the planning, execution, and delivery of complex ASIC development programs.

*This is not an IT program role. This is deep, execution-focused program leadership in a semiconductor environment.*

*6-month contract role with an expectation of working onsite 2–3 days per week.*

## What you’ll own

  • End-to-end ASIC program execution from architecture through production
  • Tapeout readiness, schedules, and cross-functional alignment
  • Risk management across silicon, software, and system integration

## What you’ll do

  • Lead full lifecycle ASIC programs from early architecture through post-silicon validation and production
  • Build and manage detailed schedules, milestones, and resource plans across distributed teams
  • Drive tapeout execution across RTL, verification, DFT, physical design, packaging, and board teams
  • Track readiness and sign-off criteria including timing, power, and design rule checks
  • Manage ECO processes and silicon revision planning
  • Coordinate hardware and software timelines to ensure bring-up readiness
  • Align firmware, drivers, SDKs, and system integration with silicon milestones
  • Lead cross-functional reviews, tapeout readiness checkpoints, and program updates
  • Communicate risks, tradeoffs, and progress clearly to leadership
  • Establish KPIs and improve program management processes as the organization scales

## What you bring

  • 7+ years of program management experience in semiconductor or ASIC environments
  • Proven experience leading complex ASIC tapeouts
  • Strong understanding of the full silicon lifecycle from architecture to production
  • Familiarity with tapeout flows, sign-off criteria, and foundry interactions
  • Experience coordinating hardware and software teams across complex programs
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to operate at both technical and executive levels
  • Comfortable working in fast-paced, high-accountability environments

## Nice to have

  • Experience with AI chips or accelerator architectures
  • Familiarity with advanced process nodes and modern foundry workflows
  • Background in ASIC design, verification, or hardware engineering
  • Experience with TSMC or leading semiconductor foundries
  • PMP or similar program management certification
