👋 Who We Are

Bravo builds point-of-sale and compliance software for specialty retailers—pawn shops, firearms dealers, and the businesses most software companies ignore.

Our customers are independent shop owners and small businesses going up against billion-dollar retailers every single day. We give them the tools, speed, and compliance coverage that used to be reserved for enterprise—and we're part of the reason they're still competing, still winning, and still keeping their doors open.

We're a tight-knit team that moves fast, cares deeply about quality, and holds ourselves to a high standard. We're looking for people who share that drive.

🚀 The Role

We're looking for an experienced Site Reliability Engineer to join our technology team and own the reliability, scalability, and performance of our production systems. You'll work closely with engineering, infrastructure, and security teams to operate and continuously improve a Microsoft Azure-based cloud environment supporting mission-critical applications. This role reports to Engineering leadership.

The ideal candidate:

Brings deep, hands-on Azure experience and knows how to run production systems that can't afford to go down

Is proactive about observability — you're never waiting for a customer to find the problem first

Operates with rigor and communicates clearly under pressure, especially during incidents

In your first 90 days, you'll:

Audit the current monitoring and alerting coverage and ship measurable improvements to observability across production systems

Lead or co-lead at least one incident response end-to-end, producing a complete RCA with corrective actions

Establish a documented baseline of production environment health metrics and identify the top three reliability risks to address

💪 What You'll Be Doing

Design, deploy, and operate highly available systems in Microsoft Azure — owning uptime, latency, and capacity planning for production environments

Build and maintain monitoring, alerting, and observability solutions so issues are caught before customers notice them

Respond to incidents, lead root cause analysis (RCA), and drive corrective and preventive actions through to completion

Partner with application development teams to improve deployment practices, reliability standards, and operational readiness

Support and optimize SQL Server environments, including performance tuning, availability, and disaster recovery

Maintain infrastructure supporting C#/.NET applications and Windows Server environments (on-prem and cloud)

Administer Elasticsearch for logging, search, and observability; manage Barracuda security and networking solutions

Improve deployment automation and operational processes — continuously raising the reliability and maturity bar

Use AI tools to accelerate research, documentation, and troubleshooting workflows — and evaluate outputs critically before acting on them.

🧠 What You Bring

5–10 years in Site Reliability Engineering, DevOps, Systems Engineering, or a closely related role

Strong hands-on Microsoft Azure experience across compute, networking, storage, and security

Deep experience with Windows Server, SQL Server, and C#/.NET applications in production environments

Proven track record supporting high-availability systems with real operational stakes

Experience with Elasticsearch (logging, querying, troubleshooting) and Barracuda products (firewall, security, networking)

Strong troubleshooting skills across application, infrastructure, and network layers — and the incident response discipline to match

Nice to have:

PowerShell scripting and automation experience

Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation

Experience in a SaaS or multi-tenant environment

🛠️ Tools & Tech Stack

Microsoft Azure (compute, networking, storage, security)

SQL Server

Windows Server (on-prem and cloud-hosted VMs)

Elasticsearch

Barracuda (firewall, security, networking)

C#/.NET application stack

PowerShell (preferred for automation/scripting)

🤖 How We Use AI

Uses AI tools daily — for drafting, analysis, research, or problem-solving. Knows when to trust the output and when to push back. Writes effective prompts and iterates until the result is actually good.

In this role, that means using AI to accelerate incident documentation, runbook drafting, infrastructure research, and root cause analysis — not as a shortcut, but as a multiplier on the quality of your work.

🧭 How We Work

Customers Are the Heroes of Our Story.
Every product decision, support call, and feature request comes back to one question: does this make our customer's business better? They're the pawn shop owner who just put a second mortgage on the line. We build for them.

Our Pulse Comes from Our People.
We celebrate wins, show up on hard days, and share ideas without protecting turf. Collaboration here is how work actually gets done—not a talking point.

Develop the Best Product.
We lead, not follow. We iterate until something is genuinely excellent, then we ask how to make it better. If you're here to ship mediocre and move on, this isn't the right place.

Be a Force for Good.
Our software keeps gun transactions compliant, gives underserved consumers access to financial services, and keeps secondhand goods out of landfills. We take that seriously.

🎁 What We Offer

1.
Base salary + bonus — as applicable

2.
Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage

3.
401(k)

4.
Generous PTO + paid holidays

5.
Hybrid schedule — 3 days in-office (Reno, NV or Las Vegas, NV) + 2 days remote

6.
A team that pushes you to grow and has your back when things get hard
