Role summary

Brick Bodies Health and Fitness is seeking a part-time, onsite Data Analyst in Timonium, MD. This role focuses on translating complex business data needs into effective reporting, visualization, and actionable insights using SQL and Power BI. Responsibilities include building and maintaining internal/external reports, developing and automating reporting processes, and performing ad-hoc analysis. The ideal candidate is an analytical thinker with strong SQL query skills, advanced Excel proficiency, and experience with ETL processes. This position requires a high degree of initiative, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities under pressure.

Primary Directive:

The Data Analyst / SQL Developer's primary directive is to work with stakeholders to understand complex business data needs and translate those requirements into effective reporting, visualization, and actionable insights. They are responsible for building and maintaining the company's external and internal reports. Developing, streamlining, and automating reporting alongside ad-hoc reporting.

The ideal candidate will be an analytic thinker with a strong SQL background that is curious and a natural problem solver. This position is a part-time, exempt position located in Timonium, MD.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Create visually rich presentations using various forms, charts, and other graphical elements into dashboards – generally within the PowerBI framework.
  • Convert business requirements into specifications, jobs, process, scripts, programs, and queries.
  • Produce clear, concise, relevant, and accurate documentation.
  • Design, develop, build, modify, and maintain complex reports using MS SQL, Power BI, Excel, and other tools.
  • Import and export data in different formats and various sources for data manipulation, wrangling, modeling, migration, and reporting.
  • Balancing projects, daily tasks, and ad-hoc reporting requests.
  • Collaborate with internal end-users to resolve technical problems as they relate to reporting and address business reporting issues.
  • Provide suggestions to enhance current reporting capability to meet future business needs.
  • Strong code of ethics.

What We’re Looking For:

  • SQL Development: 18 months.
  • Strong level of knowledge in writing SQL queries, stored procedures, and creating views.
  • Advanced MS Excel experience.
  • Solid understanding and working experience with ETL processes (Extract, Transform, and Load)
  • Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • High attention to detail.
  • Ability to work under minimal supervision and use own initiative.
  • Ability to work under pressure and deadlines.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities under a full workload with aggressive deadlines.

Additional Experience Preferred but Required:

  • Eliciting requirements from non-technical individuals.
  • Designing SQL processes, solutions, and automation.
  • SSRS, Power BI/Fitness BI, DataTrak, VB Studio, and Sage 300.
  • Microsoft Certifications.
