Role summary

Broadridge is seeking a Senior Software Engineer with over 10 years of backend development experience, specializing in Java and cloud technologies. The role requires deep expertise in Java, Spring Boot, microservices architecture, and modern DevOps practices. Candidates must have significant experience with AWS cloud services (EC2, S3, Lambda, RDS), stream processing frameworks like Kafka Streams, and containerization tools such as Docker and Kubernetes. Familiarity with relational databases (PostgreSQL, SQL Server) and DevOps tools (Jenkins, Terraform) is essential. This is a hybrid role within the financial services industry, focusing on the Account Transfers domain.

We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Java Developer with familiarity in Microsoft technologies and over 10 years of hands-on experience in backend development, cloud technologies, and modern DevOps practices.
The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in Java and Spring Boot, along with proven expertise in AWS cloud services, stream processing, and container orchestration.
Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of professional experience in Java development with good familiarity of .Net and expertise in microservices architecture.
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience working in AWS cloud environments, including services such as EC2, S3, Lambda, RDS, etc.
  • Strong experience with stream processing frameworks such as Kafka Streams, and familiarity with Apache Kafka or Confluent Kafka.
  • Solid understanding of PostgreSQL, SQL Server relational databases.
  • Proficient in DevOps practices and tools including Jenkins, Terraform, Nexus, and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Experience with containerization and orchestration tools such as Docker, Kubernetes, AWS EKS, and ECS.
  • Familiarity with messaging systems like Apache Kafka.
  • Exposure to financial domain messaging formats (e.g., XML, JSON, and mainframe message formats) is a strong plus.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working in Agile/Scrum teams.
  • Experience in the Account Transfers domain within the financial industry.
