Network Security Engineer
Role summary
BBH is seeking a Network Security Engineer to join their Infrastructure Network Security group. This role is responsible for managing and developing security technology functions for data, systems, networks, and applications. Key responsibilities include evaluating and implementing security products and procedures, supporting new security technologies, researching emerging security trends, and providing consultation on security policies. The engineer will also partner with system owners to ensure information integrity and assist in disaster recovery planning. The position requires a Bachelor's degree in information systems or a related discipline, and experience with various network and security components is essential. The role involves on-call support, including nights and weekends.

The Network Security Engineer will be a member of Infrastructure Network Security group that manages and develops security technology functions in a hands-on capacity for data, systems, networks, and applications. This position is responsible for security technology with regards to evaluation, implementation, and support of products and procedures to enhance security protect function under the Cyber Security Organization at BBH.
Responsibilities
Cyber Security
- Review requests for new systems or changes to existing systems and evaluate the impact to security.
- Create security project plans to support new systems and/or modifications to existing systems.
- Partner with system owners to ensure the integrity, availability and confidentiality of information residing in corporate databases, workstations, servers or being transmitted over the network.
- Assist in the design and implementation of disaster recovery plans.
Security Products
- Evaluate and implement products and procedures to enhance security.
- Post implementation support of new security technology.
- Research emerging security products, services, protocols, and standards, in support of security development and enhancement efforts.
- Recommend, deploy, and oversee the monitoring of additional security products and tools or enhancements to existing tools.
Security Support
- Provide consultation to the business on security policies and issues.
- Represent the security needs of the organization by providing security expertise and assistance on all IT projects.
- Enforcement of IT security policies, guidelines, standards, and procedures.
Qualifications Include
- Bachelor’s degree in information systems or related discipline required.
- Experience in the financial services industry (preferred).
- Hands on engineering experience with the following technologies is a plus:
- Network and Endpoint Firewalls
- Web Proxies and SOCKS proxies
- Remote Access Technologies
- Load Balancers
- Domain Name Servers
- Application Firewalls
- IPSEC VPN
- LAN/WAN Routing protocols
- Segmentation Methodologies and Technologies
- Experience with industry information security standards and practices, including applicable laws related to data privacy and protection.
- Experience with network and security components, including firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, anti-virus software and data encryption.
- Experience with IP, TCP/IP and other network administration protocols, including their vulnerabilities and solutions required.
- Experience with any the following is a big plus
- BIND/DNS
- Operating systems (Windows, Linux)
- Python or another scripting languages
- Experience with operating platforms, database and sub-system platforms and products.
- Ability to handle multiple priorities, while meeting deadlines.
- Strong problem solving, organizational and project management skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong relationship and people skills.
- REQUIRED: Must be able to work nights and weekends for support calls as necessary
Salary Range
$100,000 - $160,000
*BBH and its affiliates' compensation program includes base salary, discretionary bonuses, and profit-sharing.
