Role summary

This foundational, hands-on Real Estate Data Analyst role is responsible for ensuring property-level data is complete, accurate, standardized, and analysis-ready. Key responsibilities include validating property data packages (appraisals, income statements, rent rolls, leases), identifying and resolving data gaps, entering financial and physical data into standardized templates, and supporting financial and market analyses. The role also involves creating and maintaining Power BI dashboards and visualizations, structuring underlying data models, and gathering market-level data from various sources. A Bachelor's degree in a related field and strong Excel proficiency are required, with Power BI experience being a plus. The role emphasizes attention to detail, clear communication, and the ability to manage multiple assignments.

The Real Estate Analyst is a foundational, hands-on technical role responsible for ensuring that property-level data is complete, accurate, standardized, and analysis-ready. This is the entry point for a career in commercial real estate valuation. You will work directly with the Data Collections team and the Real Estate Analyst team to validate incoming real estate property data, including appraisal, income and expense statements, rent rolls, and lease documents, as well as other publicly available property data and prepare that data in standardized formats that support the real estate valuation analysis across multiple markets and property types.

Key Responsibilities

Data Validation & Completeness

  • Receive and review property data packages assembled by the Data Collections team; validate that all required documentation is present and accounted for, including: prior appraisals, income and expense statements, rent rolls, and all active lease documents including amendments, extensions, and renewals.
  • Identify and document gaps, inconsistencies, or quality issues in received data; coordinate with the Data Collections team to resolve deficiencies before the package moves to analysis.
  • Communicate directly with clients (as directed) to clarify property characteristics, request missing documents, and confirm data accuracy.

Data Standardization & Template Population

  • Enter property-level financial and physical data into standardized internal templates, ensuring consistency of format, units, and categorization across property types and jurisdictions.
  • Work with the VP of Real Estate to define and structure data to support like-property clustering and comparative analysis

Analytical Support & Modeling

  • Support preliminary financial and market analyses for rent analysis, operating expense comparisons, and capitalization rate support.
  • Create and maintain Power BI dashboards and visualizations that improve visibility into data collection progress, portfolio status, market trends, or other metrics as assigned.
  • Structure underlying data models to ensure that dashboards and reports are informationally accurate, logically organized, and useful to the analyst team and leadership.

Research & Market Data

  • Gather, verify, and organize property-level and market-level data from public records, assessor databases, MLS, and other third-party sources.
  • Collect and maintain comparable sales, lease comparables, operating expense benchmarks, and market trend data across multiple property types and jurisdictions.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Real Estate, Economics, Business, Accounting, or a related field.
  • Strong Excel proficiency required: candidates should be comfortable with pivot tables, Power Query
  • Power BI experience a plus
  • Strong interest in commercial real estate, valuation, and financial analysis.
  • Excellent attention to detail with a commitment to producing accurate, well-documented, reproducible work.
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple assignments and deadlines.

Base salary range up to $85,000 plus great benefits!
