Join our dynamic team as a Human Resources Coordinator and play a vital role in shaping a positive, compliant, and engaging workplace environment. The HR Coordinator promotes a positive and healthy work environment by responding quickly and effectively to staff issues as they arise as well as performing routine day-to-day HR tasks.
Responsibilities
- Benefits – enroll and maintain employees in plan.
- Health & Safety – provide consultation to Joint Health & Safety Committee, report incidents to WSIB, maintain Health & Safety bulletin boards, ensure compliance.
- Correspondence Management – prepare letters within scope, maintain org charts, track data, update Employee Handbook.
- Documents Record – maintain human resources database system (ADP Workforce Now) and employee personnel files.
- Employee Engagement – work with Social Committee to schedule staff social events, track Years of Service awards, conduct retention and exit interviews. Create and distribute HR newsletter and maintain social boards in all locations. Arrange for donations and gifts. Order office supplies.
- Training – ensure all training is recorded and leadership is notified of upcoming expiry dates. Maintain rosters, assist facilitators and arrange for catering where applicable.
- Recruitment – create job postings and screen applications. Lead seasonal recruitment for group of companies.
- Onboarding – provide office tour and welcome package on day one, work with Payroll Specialist to ensure proper onboarding of staff into payroll system.
- Employment Legislation – support compliance of necessary standards.
- Employee Performance – assist Department heads in administering performance evaluations, disciplinary letters, and performance improvement plans.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree and/or certificate in HR or related field
- Experience with ADP Workforce Now considered an asset
- Knowledge of relevant Employment legislation
- Excellent communication skills
- Strong employee relations
- Highly organized, detail oriented and can prioritize effectively
- Ability to work in a close team environment with overlapping/shared responsibilities and maintain positive working relationships
Working Conditions and Physical Requirements
- Full time, permanent.
- Minimum one day per week at Brantford warehouse (Plant Farm and Henry), with remainder of time at Paris head office. Potential for occasional hybrid work from home during off season.
- Access to compensated HR training where required.

Pay: $48,750.00-$55,000.00 per year
