Role summary

The CALL Program Manager provides strategic and operational leadership for the Calvin Academy for Lifelong Learning (CALL), aligning with Calvin University's institutional priorities. This role involves overseeing operational administration, program development, policy management, and staff supervision. The Program Manager will cultivate strong partnerships with university personnel, CALL committees, and community stakeholders, while also developing and managing marketing strategies to promote CALL programs and membership growth. ## Position Summary

The CALL Program Manager provides strategic and operational leadership for the Calvin Academy for Lifelong Learning (CALL), ensuring alignment with Calvin University's institutional priorities. The Director oversees operational administration, program development, policy management, and staff supervision, while cultivating strong partnerships with university personnel, CALL committees, and community stakeholders.

## Essential Duties and Responsibilities

University and Community Engagement

  • Define and execute a long-range strategic vision aligned with Calvin University’s mission.
  • Lead strategic planning efforts with the CALL Board and university leadership.
  • Build partnerships with national lifelong learning organizations to inform programming.
  • Serve as primary liaison with university administration, faculty, and Advancement partners.

Program Operations and Leadership

  • Plan and implement courses, lectures, travel programs, and events.
  • Supervise CALL staff and ensure effective team operations.
  • Engage the CALL Board and committees in program strategy and development.
  • Strengthen volunteer participation through structured support and alignment with goals.

Policy and Program Development

  • Develop and maintain operational policies and procedures.
  • Initiate partnerships and programming to expand engagement among diverse populations.

Program Execution and Technology

  • Identify emerging educational topics and recruit qualified instructors.
  • Ensure consistency and quality across in‑person, digital, and hybrid program modalities.
  • Implement technologies that enhance program delivery and participant communication.

Marketing and Communications

  • Develop and manage marketing strategies promoting CALL programs, events, and membership growth.
  • Produce and oversee digital and print communications, including newsletters and promotional content.
  • Maintain CALL website content and recommend improvements to increase engagement.
  • Coordinate with University Marketing, IT, and Advancement Communications for brand consistency.
  • Manage communication timelines for program launches and organizational updates.
  • Cultivate partnerships with community and lifelong learning organizations to expand outreach.

Ongoing Performance

  • Demonstrated leadership in operational planning, staff supervision, and team development.
  • Maintain positive, collaborative relationships with volunteers, faculty, university offices, and community partners.
  • Apply data‑driven evaluation methods to ensure continuous improvement of programs.
  • Demonstrate initiative, cultural competency, teamwork, and strong communication.
  • Show measurable contributions to program visibility through ongoing marketing assessment and implementation.

## Skill Requirements

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Ability to recruit, support, and motivate volunteers.
  • Strong customer‑service orientation with the ability to engage diverse audiences.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with Workday and Salesforce helpful.
  • Experience with Canva or similar design platforms (e.g., Adobe Express, Piktochart) preferred.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects in a dynamic environment

## Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Minimum of 3 years experience in program coordination, supervision, or related field.
  • Experience in higher education, nonprofit organizations, or adult learning preferred.

## Physical Requirements

  • Work performed in a standard office environment with minimal exposure to hazards.
  • Use of a keyboard for data entry and document preparation.
  • Review of printed and digital materials.
  • Occasional lifting of materials up to 40 lbs.
  • Ability to remain stationary for extended periods.
  • Occasional movement of small equipment used for livestreaming.
