Role summary

Cambio Consulting Group LLC seeks a remote Software Engineer with 8+ years of experience in Oracle DBMS, Advanced PL/SQL, HTML/XML, and Oracle APEX to support the DoD's enterprise financial reporting platform. This role involves the full software development lifecycle, from analysis and coding to testing and production support, within an Agile environment. The engineer will contribute to critical federal systems, including the Defense Departmental Reporting System (DDRS), and will be responsible for technical analysis, design, development, testing, and production support. A Bachelor's degree is required, and U.S. citizenship is mandatory.

Cambio Consulting Group LLC is hiring a Software Engineer to support the DoD’s enterprise financial reporting platform used to produce audited financial statements, GTAS submissions, and consolidated reports for Treasury, OMB, and DoD leadership (Defense Departmental Reporting System (DDRS). This is a technically substantive role for an Oracle developer with 8+ years of experience (including at least 5 years of consecutive, hands-on work) who wis ready to contribute across the full software development lifecycle on a high-stakes, high-visibility federal system. You will work through system change requests from analysis and coding through testing and production support — gaining deep experience in DoD financial systems in a structured Agile environment.

The position and work will be performed remotely (fully).

Work Schedule: This position is support is performed during core business hours Monday through Friday. End-of-month reporting periods may require extended hours, evening, weekend, or holiday support on a rotating on-call basis. On-call personnel must acknowledge issues within 30 minutes of notification.

The Software Engineer will be responsible for the following:

  • Lead and perform technical analysis and design for system change requests (SCRs), documenting scope of changes in formal DDRS Technical Analysis documents
  • Write, review, and finalize requirements and user stories using Agile methodology in coordination with DFAS Operations and the user community
  • Develop, test, and implement code changes using Oracle DBMS, Advanced PL/SQL, HTML/XML, and Oracle APEX
  • Create and execute unit test scripts, system integration test (SIT) scripts, and manage test deficiency reports (TDRs) through resolution
  • Participate in sprint standups, backlog grooming, smoke tests, sprint reviews, and retrospectives
  • Manage source code branches and production baselines within designated version control systems
  • Support production trouble report (PTR) resolution, including root cause analysis, code fixes, and end-user communications
  • Prepare and refresh development and test environments as required by technical and test leads
  • Complete customer requests for data extracts and provide technical support to end users and other technical staff
  • Participate in peer reviews of code, design documents, and test scripts; maintain all work products in designated repositories (DFAS Now, version control, Microsoft Teams)

Requirements:

  • 8 or more years of experience in Oracle DBMS (12c or higher), Advanced PL/SQL, HTML/XML, and Oracle APEX, with at least 5 years of recent experience
  • Demonstrated experience with Oracle APEX
  • Experience supporting the full software development lifecycle: requirements, design, coding, testing, and production support
  • Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodology including sprint ceremonies and user story development
  • Experience with version control systems and configuration management tools
  • Ability to work in a distributed team environment and communicate effectively with government stakeholders
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a government background investigation / security clearance
  • All contractor employees must read, write, speak, and understand English fluently

Preferred Qualifications:

  • JavaScript programming experience
  • Experience with APEX Office Print (AOP)
  • Intermediate to advanced TOAD or PL/SQL Developer tool experience
  • General Ledger or financial reporting system development background
  • Prior DFAS, DoD financial systems, or federal financial reporting experience
