Role summary

Canadian Museums is seeking a Volunteer UI/UX Designer to create a new digital interface for their platform, launching May 1st. This remote, volunteer role is open to Canadian residents only and offers real-world experience and a portfolio piece. The designer will collaborate with developers to translate requirements into intuitive and visually appealing screens using tools like Figma or Adobe XD. The ideal candidate has a good eye for clean layouts and user-friendly interfaces, and can commit a few hours per week leading up to the launch.

Volunteer UI/UX Designer Needed – Expanding the Canadian Museums Ecosystem

We are rapidly expanding the
Canadian Museums
ecosystem and building a robust suite of digital tools to support cultural institutions, heritage sites, and creative communities. We are in a high-growth phase, connecting people with art, history, and unique experiences across the country.

We are looking for a passionate and creative
Volunteer UI/UX Designer
to join our engineering team. You will have the unique opportunity to design a brand-new digital interface from scratch, leaving a lasting mark on a live product launching on May 1st.

This is a fantastic opportunity to gain
real-world Canadian work experience
, build a stunning portfolio piece, and collaborate with a talented development team.

The Role:

Our developers are building a highly efficient backend system, but we need your creative vision to craft the blueprints (Figma/Adobe XD) for a premium, seamless user experience. You will help us translate functional requirements into clean, intuitive, and beautiful screens.

What We Are Looking For:

- Must be a
current resident of Canada

- Ability to collaborate with our frontend developers to bring your designs to life.
