Role summary

We are seeking a skilled Data Scientist with a strong foundation in software development to join our dynamic team. This role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to design, develop, and maintain high-quality solutions. Key responsibilities include working with big data processing, NoSQL databases (MongoDB, ElasticSearch, MapReduce, HBase), Apache NiFi for data ingestion, ETL processes, and managing IT security vulnerabilities using POAMs and FISMA controls. The ideal candidate will also have experience with schema evolution, data modeling, metadata management, and running production-critical distributed systems in an Agile environment. A Top Secret clearance is required.

Overview
We are seeking a skilled Data Scientist to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in software development and a passion for creating innovative applications. This role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to design, develop, and maintain high-quality solutions that meet the needs of our clients and enhance user experience.

Duties

  • Demonstrated experience working with big data processing and NoSQL databases such as MongoDB, ElasticSearch, MapReduce, and HBase.
  • Demonstrated experience with Apache NiFi.
  • Demonstrated experience with the Extract, Transform, and Load (ETL) processes.
  • Demonstrated experience managing and mitigating IT security vulnerabilities using Plans of Actions and Milestones (POAMs), and applying FISMA security controls.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated experience with Apache NiFi for flow-based ingestion and provenance-driven data movement.
  • Demonstrated experience with schema evolution strategies, mapping conflicts, versioning, and automated reindex pipelines.
  • Demonstrated experience with data modeling, metadata management and catalog tools.
  • Demonstrated experience with strong communication skills and working cross-functionally with product, analytics and SRE teams.
  • Demonstrated experience working across all layers of the stack when needed, demonstrate problem-solving skills, collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, and adapt to evolving project requirements.
  • Demonstrated experience experience running production-critical distributed systems.
  • Experience working in an Agile development environment
  • Proficiency with Git

Pay: $160,000.00 - $300,000.00 per year
