About the Role
We are looking for a highly analytical
Risk & Data Analyst
to support the development and optimization of our underwriting and credit risk models. This role will work closely with the underwriting, data, and executive teams to analyze portfolio performance, identify risk patterns, and continuously improve our underwriting decisioning.
This is not a management role — we are looking for a
hands-on analytical professional
who enjoys working with data, building models, and improving lending performance. The ideal candidate has strong quantitative skills and wants to grow into a larger risk or credit leadership role over time.
Key Responsibilities
Underwriting Model Optimization
- Analyze performance of existing underwriting models and decision rules
- Recommend and implement adjustments to improve approval accuracy and portfolio performance
- Test and monitor model outputs and credit decision frameworks
Portfolio & Risk Analysis
- Analyze loan/advance performance by cohort, segment, channel, and underwriting tier
- Identify early indicators of default or risk deterioration
- Produce reports on portfolio health, default trends, and profitability metrics
Data & Model Development
- Work with internal data sources (bank data, transaction data, behavioral data) to identify predictive risk indicators
- Assist in building and refining credit scoring models and decision frameworks
- Conduct A/B testing on underwriting criteria and pricing structures
Cross-Team Collaboration
- Work closely with underwriting, engineering, and leadership teams
- Translate data insights into actionable underwriting policy improvements
- Help build dashboards and reporting tools to monitor performance
Qualifications
- 3+ years experience in
risk analytics, credit analytics, or data analysis
- Strong quantitative and analytical skills
- Experience analyzing lending portfolios (fintech, consumer lending, MCA, BNPL, credit cards, etc. is a plus)
- Proficiency in
SQL, Python, R, or similar analytical tools
- Strong Excel / data modeling skills
- Ability to translate data into actionable insights
- Understanding of
credit risk, underwriting, and default analysis
