Medical Laboratory Technician
Role summary
Celerion is seeking a Medical Laboratory Technician to support clinical research in translational medicine. The role involves analyzing body fluid specimens according to client protocols and standard operating procedures. Key responsibilities include computer entry of requests and results, operating and maintaining laboratory instruments, performing body fluid analysis using manual and automated methods, evaluating quality control data, and managing lab inventory. The technician will also document test data and interact with clients. This position is crucial for helping to bring drugs to market faster by ensuring accurate and efficient laboratory operations.
Essential Functions
• Set up, operation, and shutdown of clinical laboratory instruments
• Body fluid analysis, using manual and automated testing procedures
• Quality control evaluation and data review of analytical runs
• Preventative maintenance of clinical laboratory instruments
• Computer entry of analytical results
• Document test data
• Inventory control of routine materials used within the clinical lab
• Interact with clients
• Meetings/in-service education
Knowledge/Skills/Education/Licenses
• Medical Laboratory Technician (Associate degree or equivalent certification)
• Schedule Monday - Friday (flexible hours)
• ASCP/ AMT (or equivalent) or MLT Degree required
• Some weekend availability required
