Role Description

Cielara AI is seeking a Senior Software Engineer specializing in AI-Backend Systems for a full-time, hybrid role based in Seattle, WA, with some work-from-home flexibility. The role involves designing and developing scalable backend systems to support Causal AI tools, coding and deploying API-based infrastructures, debugging and improving system performance, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and ensuring system reliability through robust operating system interactions and fault-tolerant design principles. The engineer will play a significant role in advancing the development of innovative solutions that identify and prevent system failures before deployment.

Qualifications

• Strong expertise in Computer Science fundamentals, including algorithms, data structures, and database design
• Proven experience in Software Development with proficiency in multiple programming languages and frameworks
• Excellent debugging and troubleshooting skills to identify and resolve issues efficiently
• Solid understanding of Operating Systems and their role in creating scalable, reliable backend systems
• Familiarity with distributed systems, cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, or GCP), and API development
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills; ability to work in a fast-paced, innovation-driven environment
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field
• Experience with Causal AI, machine learning, or predictive analytics is a plus
• Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset to work effectively within cross-functional teams
• An interest in reliability engineering or enterprise software solutions is preferred
