How You Will Contribute

• Design, implement, and test secure software features for embedded systems and cloud-based applications.
• Conduct comprehensive security reviews and perform threat modeling for software architectures.
• Collaborate with development teams to embed security best practices throughout the software development lifecycle using Agile methodologies.
• Perform security vulnerability assessments, debugging, and remediation across software components, including the Linux Kernel.
• Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines to automate security testing and ensure continuous integration.
• Research and innovate new security technologies, tools, and approaches to enhance software integrity.
• Provide technical guidance and foster collaboration on security-related initiatives across cross-functional teams.

The Must Haves

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
• Proven experience in software security engineering with a deep understanding of security principles and best practices.
• Proficiency in C++/C/Python programming languages for embedded systems development.
• Expertise in Linux Kernel development and its security aspects.
• Solid understanding of cloud computing architecture and its security considerations.
• Experience with container technologies (e.g., Docker) and container security hardening methods.
• Demonstrated success in integrating security into CI/CD pipelines and automated workflows.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with the Yocto project.
• Knowledge of full-stack development principles and practices.
• Proficiency with debugging tools and techniques for resolving security vulnerabilities.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to deliver clear and concise technical presentations.
• Familiarity with version control systems such as Git.
• Experience with research and development operations and product lifecycle management.
• Ability to foster collaboration and work effectively in cross-functional teams.

Pay Range
Competitive salary commensurate with experience.
Pay ranges at Ciena are designed to accommodate variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions, and locations, reflecting our diverse products, industries, and lines of business. Non-Sales employees may be eligible for a discretionary incentive bonus, while Sales employees may be eligible for a sales commission.
