Role summary

Clario is seeking a Cloud Cybersecurity Engineer to enhance its security posture across cloud and enterprise systems. This role involves hands-on design, implementation, and improvement of security controls, with a focus on scalable and secure solutions. Responsibilities include identifying and remediating risks, implementing controls for cloud, network, host, and identity management, and automating security processes using IaC and CI/CD. The engineer will also manage security tools, support compliance, and evaluate new technologies. The position requires a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience, 5+ years in IT/cybersecurity, and strong knowledge of cloud security, automation, and IAM. Remote work within the US is an option.

## What You’ll Be Doing

  • Identify and remediate security risks across cloud configurations, architectures, and processes to strengthen overall security posture
  • Design and implement scalable security controls aligned with cloud, network, host, and identity management best practices
  • Act as a technical lead on security initiatives, translating complex concepts into actionable guidance for engineers and stakeholders
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to integrate security into system design, development, and deployment processes
  • Automate security controls and guardrails using infrastructure-as-code, policy-as-code, and CI/CD integrations
  • Configure and manage security tools, including privileged access management (PAM) solutions, to ensure secure and reliable operations
  • Maintain security tooling environments, including monitoring, availability, backup, and access control management
  • Support audit and compliance activities by conducting access reviews, validating controls, and preparing technical documentation
  • Research and evaluate emerging technologies to continuously improve security capabilities and practices
  • Promote a culture of security awareness and best practices across the organization

## What We Look For

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Cybersecurity, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
  • 5+ years of experience in information technology, including infrastructure, networking, cloud, or hosting environments
  • Experience in cybersecurity, cloud security, DevOps, or network engineering roles
  • Strong understanding of cloud security architecture and shared responsibility models
  • Experience securing cloud-native environments, including containers and Kubernetes
  • Familiarity with security automation, scripting, and infrastructure-as-code practices
  • Knowledge of identity and access management and privileged access controls
  • Understanding of security frameworks and enterprise security architecture across hybrid environments
  • Ability to assess risk and implement solutions that balance security, usability, and business impact
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
  • Ability to manage priorities effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
  • Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CCSP, Security+, AWS Certified Security Specialty, or Azure certifications are preferred
  • Based in or able to work remotely within the United States
