Assistant Program Manager
Role summary
The Assistant Program Manager supports the daily operations of CMNTY Academy, ensuring a safe, structured, and engaging environment for students. This role collaborates with the Program Manager to oversee staff, manage student behavior, and uphold high-quality programming aligned with the academy’s mission. Key responsibilities include program support, staff guidance, student engagement, parent communication, and ensuring safety and compliance. This is a part-time, onsite position requiring direct experience in youth-focused fields and leadership capabilities.
Job Summary

This role works closely with the Program Manager to oversee staff, manage student behavior, and maintain high-quality programming aligned with the academy’s mission.
Key Responsibilities
Program Support & Operations
- Assist in the daily coordination of after-school program activities
- Help ensure smooth transitions between snack time, homework help, and enrichment activities
- Maintain a structured, safe, and organized environment for students
Staff Support & Leadership
- Support, guide, and communicate with program staff during daily operations
- Step in to lead activities or supervise groups when needed
- Help reinforce staff expectations and program standards
Student Engagement & Behavior
- Build positive relationships with students
- Support behavior management using positive reinforcement strategies
- Address minor conflicts and escalate concerns to the Program Manager when necessary
Parent & School Communication
- Assist with student check-in and check-out procedures
- Communicate professionally with parents during pick-up as needed
- Support strong relationships with school staff
Safety & Compliance
- Ensure all students are supervised at all times
- Follow all safety policies and procedures
- Report incidents and assist with documentation when needed
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 1–2 years of direct experience in after-school programs, youth development, education, sports programs, or a related field (REQUIRED)
- Demonstrated experience managing or supporting groups of children in a structured environment
- Previous leadership or supervisory experience with youth programs strongly required
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
- Proven ability to manage student behavior and lead with confidence
- CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain immediately upon hire)
- Must be reliable, punctual, and professional at all times
Schedule
- Part-time, Monday–Friday (after-school hours)
Pay: From $12.00 per hour
Expected hours: 20.0 per week
