Role Description
As a Senior Infrastructure Engineer, you will support the Office of Information Technology and the Colorado Department of Human Services in conducting a structured, enterprise-level current-state assessment of county-supported IT infrastructure environments that support critical health and human services systems. This role will be strictly focused on documentation, assessment, and impact analysis. It will not include solution design, implementation planning, or modernization execution.

You will be expected to work
40 hours per week
for
8 weeks
for a total of
320 hours at a rate of $110/hr
. The State will provide a laptop for the duration of the project.
Qualifications
- 8+ Years in Infrastructure Architecture:
Extensive experience in high-level systems design and documentation.
- Expertise in "Discovery" Projects:
Proven track record of auditing complex, "messy" environments and mapping out undocumented dependencies.
- Hybrid Networking & Identity Knowledge:
Professional-level understanding of WAN/LAN, VPN tunnels, and Active Directory/SAML identity models.
- Legacy System Literacy:
Comfortable navigating mainframe to modern data flows and identifying risks in aging hardware/software lifecycles.
- Technical Writing & Diagramming:
Ability to translate technical findings into clear, executive-level reports and architectural diagrams.
- Stakeholder Interviewing:
Excellent soft skills for extracting technical details from busy or siloed IT staff across different organizations.
