Role summary
RTX Collins Aerospace is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer for their Rotary Wing Platform Systems Team within the Military Avionics group. This onsite role focuses on developing and testing avionics for Special Operations Army (SOA) Common Avionics Architecture System (CAAS) programs, enhancing MH-60M and MH-47G aircraft capabilities. Responsibilities include performing Platform Systems Engineering (PSE) activities, supporting all phases of system product development, designing system solutions, and mentoring junior engineers. The position requires a STEM degree with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience or an advanced degree with 3 years of experience, and expertise in avionics systems testing and troubleshooting.

Join our Rotary Wing Platform Systems Team within the Military Avionics group at Collins Aerospace. Here, you will play a crucial role in developing and testing avionics for the Special Operations Army (SOA) Common Avionics Architecture System (CAAS) programs. This dynamic position offers the flexibility to push the boundaries of technology, enhancing the capabilities of the MH-60M and MH-47G aircraft platforms. This role requires a highly motivated person as a Senior Systems Engineer for the SOA CAAS programs.
What You Will Do:- You will perform Platform Systems Engineering (PSE) activities for the SOA CAAS programs.
- Support systems engineering through all phases of system product development including program pursuit and capture, requirements capture and analysis, system architecture design, requirements allocation and traceability, system verification, system validation and life-cycle product support.
- You will design system solutions, ensuring the integration of Collins Aerospace products into complex upgrade programs.
- You will navigate through the bids & pursuits, adhering to Collins Processes.
- Mentor younger engineers through Systems Engineering tasks.
Travel (domestic-US, and possible International) is possible of this position, estimating <10% of the year.

Qualifications You Must Have:
- Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience.
- Experience (military or civil aircraft) in avionics systems, specifically testing and troubleshooting.
Qualifications We Prefer:
- Collins Aerospace’s Common Avionics Architecture System (CAAS) experience.
- Experience (military or civil aircraft) in avionics systems, specifically testing and troubleshooting.
- Working knowledge / understanding of data busses and protocols (Ethernet, MIL-STD-1553B, and ARINC-429)
- Experience with TLDB, DOORS, PREP, JIRA and Microsoft Office Suite is desired.
- Strong organizational skills including associated documentation.
- Communicate with a wide variety of technical and management personnel as well the customer, normally active-duty military and associated contractors.

The salary range for this role is 86,800 USD - 165,200 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
