Licensed Behavioral Health Clinician II
Role summary
The Colorado Coalition for the Homeless seeks a Licensed Behavioral Health Clinician II to provide comprehensive mental health and substance use treatment services to individuals in supportive housing. Responsibilities include conducting assessments, developing treatment plans, delivering individual and group therapy, and crisis intervention. The clinician will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, utilize evidence-based practices, and maintain accurate client records. This role requires a Master's degree and current licensure (LCSW, LMFT, or LPC), with a minimum of one year of experience in healthcare or human services, particularly with individuals experiencing homelessness or trauma. Bilingual skills are highly desirable, and LAC certification is preferred.

Essential Job Functions
- Conduct comprehensive evaluations to identify behavioral health needs, including mental health and substance use issues.

Use evidence-based tools for accurate diagnosis and treatment planning.

Oversee the work of pre-licensed behavioral health clinicians.

Deliver evidence-based individual and group therapy tailored to client needs, focusing on mental health and substance use recovery.

Create, monitor, and update individualized treatment plans with client-centered goals and measurable outcomes.

Provide support and intervention during crises, stabilizing clients and connecting them with additional resources as needed.

Work as part of an interdisciplinary team to deliver coordinated care.

Maintain accurate and timely client records, treatment plans, and progress notes in compliance with HIPAA and regulatory standards.

Help clients access community resources (housing, employment, education) that support their wellness and recovery goals.

Participate in quality improvement initiatives and stay updated on best practices in behavioral health through professional development sessions.

Ensure timely & accurate recording of all clinical/non-clinical services, communications, and tasks in the EHR and other systems as required while maintaining complete up-to-date charts and any future upgrades as directed.

Proficiency in providing individual and group therapy, crisis intervention, and de-escalation support.

Strong ability to convey complex information clearly and empathetically to clients, colleagues, and external partners.

Competency in maintaining accurate, timely documentation in EHR in compliance with regulatory and organizational standards.

Capacity to build rapport with clients and establish effective working relationships with interdisciplinary teams.

Knowledge and understanding of diverse populations, with the ability to integrate cultural and socio-economic factors into treatment approaches.

Commitment to ethical standards, professional boundaries, confidentiality, and regulatory compliance, including HIPAA.

Ability to effectively prioritize tasks and manage caseloads within established timelines.

Education, Experience and Job Competencies
- Master’s degree in social work, Counseling, Psychology, or a related field required.
- Current licensure as an LCSW, LMFT or LPC.
- Minimum of one year of experience working in health care or human services field.
- Experience working with individuals who have experienced homelessness, trauma, and/or chronic health conditions.
- Bilingual or multilingual skills are highly desirable.
- Licensed Addiction Counselor (LAC) certification is preferred.
