Responsibilities:
- Gather network security requirements
- Configure/implement/upgrade Palo Alto/CheckPoint firewalls and VPN
- Configure Palo Alto/CheckPoint firewall policies
- Optimize firewall rules
- Configure dynamic protocols, to include RIP, OSPF, and BGP
- Assist in implementing Guardicore Micro-segmentation zero trust
Requirements:
- 2+ years of experience configuring CheckPoint or Palo Alto firewalls
- Solid networking fundamentals (understands TCP/IP, how traffic flows)
- Experience gathering security requirements and designing network security
- Experience defining and configuring firewall policies
- Experience optimizing firewall rules
- Experience configuring dynamic protocols RIP, OSPF, and BGP
- Excellent understanding of security architecture and integration
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement
- Proficient in Visio diagramming and design documentation
- Good documentation skills — policy decisions, application flow maps, exceptions, etc.
