Camunda Platform Engineer

Role Summary

We are seeking a Camunda Platform Engineer to design, build, and operate the infrastructure and delivery tooling for Camunda 7/8 process applications. This role sits at the intersection of platform engineering and DevOps, with ownership of Kubernetes-based deployments, CI/CD automation, observability, and platform reliability for business-critical workflow automation.

Key Responsibilities

·      Design, build, and maintain the underlying infrastructure for Camunda 7 or 8 across Kubernetes, Docker, and cloud platforms (OpenShift/OCP).

·      Implement and manage CI/CD pipelines for process applications using GitHub Actions, including automated testing and deployment.

·      Operate and support Camunda platform components and tooling (Operate, Tasklist, Optimize) to monitor process health and platform performance.

·      Troubleshoot incidents end-to-end; identify bottlenecks and implement improvements for scalability, resiliency, and cost efficiency.

·      Partner with application teams on deployment patterns, runtime configuration, and release management for Camunda-based services.

·      Apply platform security and governance best practices across CI/CD and runtime environments (secrets, RBAC, network policies, vulnerability scanning).

·      Create and maintain runbooks, dashboards, alerts, and operational documentation to support on-call excellence.

Required Skills / Qualifications

·      Deep practical experience with Camunda Platform 7 or 8, including BPMN/DMN modeling and execution.

·      Strong DevOps / platform engineering experience with containerization and orchestration: Docker and Kubernetes.

·      Hands-on experience with OpenShift (OCP) and Kubernetes operations (deployments, services, ingress/routes, scaling, upgrades).

·      CI/CD implementation experience, preferably using GitHub Actions.

·      Experience with process observability and operations using Camunda Operate, Tasklist, and Optimize.

·      Working knowledge of databases (PostgreSQL, MongoDB, and/or other SQL/NoSQL databases).

·      Experience with message brokers and integration patterns (Kafka, RabbitMQ).

·      Strong troubleshooting skills across distributed systems (logs, metrics, traces) and performance tuning.
