Role summary

A leading healthcare SaaS company is seeking a Chief Product Officer in Tampa, FL (hybrid) to define and execute product strategy for their cloud-based EMR platform. This executive role requires 10+ years of product management experience, with at least 5 years in an executive capacity and 7 years in people management. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in SaaS, EMR workflows, healthcare compliance (HIPAA, HITECH, Medicare), and payer integrations. Responsibilities include driving innovation, leading a product and UX team, managing the end-to-end product lifecycle, and ensuring product alignment with clinical outcomes and regulatory requirements. Proficiency with design tools like Figma is essential. This is a critical leadership position shaping the future of healthcare technology.

We are seeking a Product Executive to lead the strategy, vision, and execution of our cloud-based platform. This leader will drive innovation across our provider-facing EMR workflows and payer integration capabilities, ensuring we deliver scalable, compliant, and intuitive solutions that improve clinical outcomes, streamline operations, and enhance provider experiences.

This role is ideal for a strategic, hands-on product leader with deep experience in SaaS/EMR platforms, healthcare technology, and regulated environments, who can balance clinical usability, compliance, and business impact.

Key Responsibilities

Product Strategy & Vision

  • Define and own the product vision and multi-year roadmap for the platform.
  • Drive innovation across clinical workflows, including charting, documentation, e-prescribing, care coordination, and interoperability.
  • Identify opportunities to enhance provider and payer integration, including claims, authorizations, and data exchange.
  • Align product strategy with clinical outcomes, regulatory requirements, and business goals.

Leadership & Team Development

  • Build, lead, and mentor a high-performing team of product managers, product owners, and UX designers.
  • Establish best practices for product management, roadmap planning, and delivery execution.
  • Foster a culture of innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement.

Product Execution & Delivery

  • Own the end-to-end product lifecycle from ideation through delivery and optimization.
  • Partner closely with engineering, clinical stakeholders, data teams, and operations to deliver high-quality, scalable solutions.
  • Drive prioritization decisions balancing clinical needs, regulatory requirements, and technical feasibility.

Clinical & Customer Focus

  • Serve as the voice of providers and clinical users, ensuring products support efficient, intuitive workflows.
  • Engage directly with customers (providers, practice administrators, and health systems) to gather feedback and validate solutions.
  • Translate complex clinical and operational needs into clear product requirements and features.

Platform & UX Excellence

  • Lead development of modern, user-friendly EMR interfaces that reduce clinician burden and improve adoption.
  • Utilize tools such as Figma (or similar) to guide product design, prototyping, and user experience improvements.
  • Ensure consistency through design systems and scalable platform architecture.

Compliance & Healthcare Expertise

  • Ensure all products comply with HIPAA, HITECH, and healthcare data privacy regulations.
  • Lead product strategy aligned with Medicare requirements, including documentation, billing, and compliance workflows.
  • Maintain awareness of interoperability standards (FHIR/HL7), and regulatory changes.

Required Qualifications

  • 10+ years of product management experience, with strong focus on SaaS or platform-based products
  • Minimum 5 years Executive-level experience in a VP/Officer role
  • 7+ years of people management experience, hiring, leading and developing product teams
  • Proven experience in healthcare software products / platforms
  • Deep understanding of provider workflows and clinical documentation systems
  • Experience working with payer integrations (claims, authorizations, billing workflows)
  • Strong knowledge of HIPAA and healthcare compliance requirements
  • Proven experience bringing a product to full launch.
  • Proficiency with product design tools such as Figma, Sketch, or similar
  • Demonstrated ability to define and execute product strategy and roadmaps
  • Experience working in Agile software development environments

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with interoperability standards (FHIR, HL7, APIs)
  • Experience integrating with third-party healthcare systems
  • Knowledge of clinical quality measures, reporting, and value-based care models
  • Understanding of SaaS metrics and product performance (adoption, retention, ARR)
