Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Lead Cloud Engineer to lead the design, implementation, and operational management of scalable cloud infrastructure across enterprise environments. This role will focus primarily on AWS as the core cloud platform, while also supporting multi-cloud environments including Azure and Google Cloud Platform (GCP).

The Lead Cloud Engineer will play a key role in driving cloud infrastructure strategy, platform reliability, automation, and modernization initiatives. This position requires a strong background in cloud architecture, infrastructure automation, cloud security, and operational excellence.

The ideal candidate will work closely with DevOps, platform engineering, and application teams to build and maintain highly available cloud environments while improving efficiency through automation and best practices. This individual will also provide technical leadership, mentorship, and architectural guidance to engineering teams and contribute to long-term cloud platform strategy.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the design and implementation of secure, scalable, and highly available cloud architectures, primarily on AWS
  • Manage and optimize cloud infrastructure operations, performance, and reliability across environments
  • Support multi-cloud deployments across AWS, Azure, and GCP platforms
  • Define and implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools such as Terraform and CloudFormation
  • Architect and support containerized platforms using Docker and Kubernetes to enable scalable cloud-native deployments
  • Establish and enforce cloud security best practices, including IAM governance, network security, and compliance controls
  • Lead initiatives for cloud governance, cost optimization, and operational efficiency
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to design and maintain automation frameworks and CI/CD pipelines
  • Design and support high availability, failover strategies, and disaster recovery architectures
  • Implement monitoring, logging, and observability frameworks to ensure system performance and reliability
  • Troubleshoot complex cloud infrastructure issues and provide technical escalation support
  • Mentor cloud engineers and guide teams in adopting cloud architecture, automation, and operational best practices
  • Contribute to long-term cloud platform strategy, architecture standards, and modernization roadmaps

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Strong hands-on experience with AWS cloud services including EC2, S3, RDS, VPC, IAM, Lambda, and CloudWatch
  • Experience working in multi-cloud environments including AWS, Azure, and/or GCP
  • Advanced experience with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform and CloudFormation
  • Strong experience designing and managing containerized environments using Docker and Kubernetes
  • Deep understanding of cloud networking, VPC architecture, load balancing, and hybrid connectivity
  • Strong knowledge of cloud security architecture, identity management, and compliance frameworks
  • Experience implementing automation frameworks and CI/CD pipelines
  • Hands-on experience with cloud monitoring, logging, and observability tools
  • Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to support enterprise-scale cloud infrastructure environments
  • Ability to provide technical leadership and drive architecture decisions across engineering teams

Experience

  • • 12+ years of overall IT experience
  • • 7+ years of experience in cloud engineering, cloud infrastructure, or platform engineering roles
  • • Experience leading or mentoring engineers in enterprise-scale cloud environments
