Role summary

Cornerstone is seeking a Program Manager for its Assertive Community Treatment (ACT) program in Montgomery County. This role involves providing supervision, clinical consultation, and overall management of the ACT team, which serves individuals with severe mental illness. The Program Manager will lead the team in implementing evidence-based practices, oversee staff activities, ensure productivity targets are met, and manage program compliance and budget. The position requires a Master's degree in Social Work or a related field, or an RN license with mental health experience, along with at least three years of experience in mental health and addictions counseling. A valid driver's license and personal vehicle are also required.

As the largest outpatient behavioral health agency in Montgomery County, we offer years of evidence based treatment experience to our consumers and practical training to our staff. Our robust training program allows staff members to develop and grow in the position and provides the basis for upward mobility within the agency.

The ACT Program Manager provides supervision, clinical consultation and review, and is responsible for the overall management of the ACT team. This position delivers services to individuals who are diagnosed with severe mental illness and whose needs have not been met by more traditional service delivery approaches.

Responsibilities of the Program Manager Assertive Community Treatment (ACT)

  • Assumes the leadership role within the program’s assigned team and in the daily monitoring of implementation of evidence-based practices.
  • Models evidence-based practices and recovery to ensure team adherence and understanding to fidelity scales.
  • Actively leads and oversees the activities of team staff members providing outreach, case management, social, vocational, education, physical well-being, and residential services and programming and other services and supports provided by the treatment team.
  • Meets required productivity targets and completes all documentation within assigned time frames. Monitors and coaches staff on meeting productivity measures.
  • Complete psychosocial and diagnostic assessments and provide individual, family and peer group therapy
  • Provide supportive therapy and substance abuse counseling, and assertive case management, to include appropriate assessment, planning, coordination, linkage, delivery and advocacy of services for all assigned clients
  • Participate in the on-call system for after-hours emergencies
  • Assure compliance with policies and procedures as well as legal, contractual, licensing, regulatory requirements and monitoring of the program budget
  • May supervise students and conduct training(s) based on agency needs.
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications of the Program Manager Assertive Community Treatment (ACT)

  • Master’s degree in Social Work, LCSW-C, LCPC or LGSW in the State of Maryland.
  • Licensed RN with experience in mental health services. Additional relevant licenses accepted in lieu of Masters
  • Three years experience providing mental health services and addictions counseling. Experience in individual, group and family therapy, case management and substance abuse treatment.
  • Possession of a valid driver’s license and satisfactory driving record (as determined by HR) required. Must have access to a personal vehicle and be willing to use it for work purposes. May be required to transport clients in personal vehicle.

Experience:

  • Mental health counseling: 3 years (Required)

License/Certification:

  • active RN license in the State of MD (Required)
  • licensure (LMSW/ LCSW/ LGPC/LCPC) in the State of MD (Required)
