The position requires a current RN license and a minimum of 5 years of nursing experience, including home or complex care program management, and experience supervising clinical staff.

Location: La Selva Beach, California
Reports To: Family / Managing Party
Hours: 20-30 per week
Rate: $105 per hour

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) with leadership and case management experience to oversee a comprehensive in-home care program. This role ensures high-quality, coordinated care across 24/7 nursing staff and part-time respiratory therapists. The Lead RN will serve as a clinical leader, advocate, and primary point of contact for providers and family, mitigating issues and supporting the managing party in day-to-day operations.

Key Responsibilities:

Clinical Oversight:

  • Supervise nursing staff and respiratory therapists, ensuring adherence to individualized care plans and safety protocols.
  • Conduct regular assessments, audits, and performance reviews for in-home staff.
  • Provide clinical guidance and support in emergency or complex situations.

Program Management

  • Coordinate scheduling and coverage for 24/7 nursing and part-time respiratory therapy.
  • Serve as the primary liaison between providers, family, and external agencies.
  • Track compliance with medical orders, regulatory requirements, and insurance documentation.

Advocacy & Support:

  • Act as a resource and advocate for the managing party, assisting with problem-solving provider complaints and logistical challenges.
  • Facilitate communication between providers to prevent conflicts and ensure continuity of care.

Training & Development:

  • Orient new staff, provide ongoing education, and ensure all staff are competent in seizure management, respiratory protocols, and other specialized care.

Documentation & Reporting:

  • Maintain accurate, up-to-date care documentation and reporting.
  • Review and update care plans as needed in collaboration with providers and family.

Qualifications:

  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in [State].
  • Minimum 5 years of nursing experience, including home care or complex care program management.
  • Experience supervising nurses and respiratory therapists.
  • Strong communication, conflict resolution, and advocacy skills.
  • Knowledge of respiratory care, seizure management, and complex pediatric/adult home care.
  • Ability to assess clinical situations independently and coordinate multi-disciplinary teams.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in case management or program coordination.
  • Certified in CPR, ACLS, or PALS depending on patient population.
  • Familiarity with Self-Determination Programs, care coordination, or patient advocacy.

Work Schedule:

  • Primary oversight during regular hours (e.g., 9:00 AM – 9:00 PM), with on-call availability for emergencies.
  • Flexible schedule to attend staff meetings, provider visits, or urgent clinical needs.
