Role summary

Seeking a SolveSpace Expert for an hourly contract role. This remote position involves leading end-to-end parametric CAD projects from concept to manufacturing export. Responsibilities include creating and managing complex 3D models, preparing CAM-ready files, and documenting design processes. The ideal candidate will have strong experience with SolveSpace, AutoCAD, and CAD/CAM workflows, proficiency in parametric sketching and 3D modeling, and experience preparing files for manufacturing methods like 3D printing and laser cutting. Strong analytical thinking and communication skills are essential for this independent yet collaborative remote role.

Role Responsibilities

Lead end-to-end parametric CAD projects in SolveSpace from concept to manufacturing export.
Document workflows, design reasoning, and engineering decisions to support AI training.
Create and manage parametric sketches with geometric and dimensional constraints.
Develop complex 3D models including extrudes, revolves, and Boolean operations.
Organize assemblies, simulate mechanisms, and iterate designs based on best practices.
Prepare and export CAM-ready files such as DXF, STL, and STEP formats.
Collaborate with teams and communicate design processes clearly in written and verbal formats.

Requirements

Strong experience with SolveSpace in full-cycle parametric CAD projects.
Strong knowledge of AutoCAD, 3D CAD, and CAD/CAM workflows.
Proficiency in parametric sketching, constraint management, and 3D modeling.
Experience preparing files for manufacturing methods like 3D printing and laser cutting.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving in CAD environments.
Ability to work independently in a remote and collaborative setting.
