Role summary
Cyber Focus AII is seeking an IT Security Analyst (Senior/Specialist) for a Government Regulatory Agency. This role offers a salary up to $130,992 annually and a flexible hybrid work model. Responsibilities include leading vulnerability and threat management, conducting assessments, managing remediation, detecting and responding to threats, and serving as a senior incident responder. Required qualifications include seven years of IT security experience, one year in security assessments/vulnerability scanning/threat hunting, and two years with security tools like MS Sentinel or Microsoft Defender. Familiarity with Washington State Security Policies and NIST Framework is also required. An Associate's degree in IT with five years of experience is an alternative.

What To Expect (Job Responsibilities)
- Lead vulnerability and threat management strategic planning for agency-wide cybersecurity initiatives
- Conduct comprehensive vulnerability assessments across enterprise applications and critical systems
- Manage vulnerability remediation and risk mitigation efforts by collaborating with various teams
- Detect and respond to advanced cybersecurity threats through real-time monitoring and analysis
- Serve as a senior incident responder, performing forensic investigations and coordinating remediation efforts
What Is Required (Qualifications)
- Seven (7) years of professional experience in IT security or related disciplines
- At least 1 year of experience in Security Assessments, Vulnerability Scanning, or Threat Hunting
- At least 2 years of working knowledge of security tools such as MS Sentinel, Microsoft Defender, or similar
- Familiarity with Washington State Security Policies and NIST Framework
- An Associate's degree in an IT program or closely related field is acceptable with five (5) years of experience
How To Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications)
- CISSP - Certified Information Systems Security Professional Certification
- Working knowledge of Cloud services such as MS Azure and Google
- Experience with additional security tools like Splunk, CrowdStrike, or Qualys
