Role summary

We are seeking a Senior VoIP Test Engineer for an onsite role in Mountain View, CA. This position focuses on migrating and validating residential and enterprise voice platforms to a cloud-based telephony system. The role requires deep expertise in SIP protocol, ATA/CPE device testing, and strong troubleshooting skills. Responsibilities include designing and executing test plans, validating signaling and media flows, performing TR-069 provisioning, troubleshooting SIP issues using packet analysis tools, and automating validation workflows with Python, REST APIs, and SQL. Experience with network fundamentals and preferred knowledge of SBCs and load testing tools are beneficial.

Location – Mountain View, CA

We are seeking a highly skilled
Senior VoIP Test Engineer
to support migration and validation of residential and enterprise voice platforms to a cloud-based telephony system. This is a hands-on, lab-focused role requiring deep SIP protocol expertise, ATA/CPE device testing, and strong troubleshooting skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and execute VoIP regression and migration test plans
  • Validate SIP signaling, RTP/media flows, and end-to-end calling features (Voicemail, E911, billing)
  • Perform TR-069 provisioning and lifecycle validation for ATA/CPE devices
  • Troubleshoot SIP issues using packet analysis tools (e.g., Wireshark)
  • Test SIP over TLS/SRTP, NAT traversal, and firewall behavior
  • Conduct interoperability testing across ATAs, SBCs, and cloud platforms
  • Automate validation workflows using Python, REST APIs, and SQL

Required Skills:

  • Strong expertise in SIP, SDP, RTP/RTCP, and VoIP protocols
  • Experience with ATA devices (Poly, Grandstream) and TR-069 provisioning
  • Proficiency in Wireshark, Python scripting, and SQL
  • Solid networking knowledge (TCP/UDP, NAT, QoS, VLANs)

Preferred:

  • Experience in telecom/ISP environments
  • Familiarity with SBCs (AudioCodes, Ribbon, CUBE) and SIP load testing tools (SIPp)

Ideal Candidate:

Detail-oriented, hands-on in lab environments, with strong troubleshooting skills and an automation mindset.
