Role Summary

We are looking for a Software Engineer to join our Engineering team and help build, scale, and maintain the core systems that power our financial platform. You will work across the full stack to design, develop, and ship features that directly impact our customers and business. This role demands a builder’s mindset—someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, takes ownership of their work, and moves with urgency.

As a member of a lean, high-impact engineering team, you will have significant autonomy and influence over technical direction. You’ll collaborate closely with Product, Data, Compliance, and Operations to deliver scalable solutions that support our growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, build, test, and deploy production-quality features across the full stack (front-end and back-end)
  • Develop and maintain APIs, microservices, and integrations with third-party partners (payment processors, card networks, banking partners)
  • Write clean, well-documented, and testable code following engineering best practices
  • Participate in architecture discussions and contribute to technical design decisions
  • Collaborate with Product and Design to translate business requirements into technical solutions
  • Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve production issues with a focus on reliability and performance
  • Contribute to CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and infrastructure-as-code practices
  • Support compliance and security requirements, including SOC 2 readiness, data encryption, and access controls
  • Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback to peers
  • Proactively identify and address technical debt, performance bottlenecks, and areas for improvement

Required Qualifications

  • 3+ years of professional software engineering experience in a production environment
  • Strong proficiency in one or more backend languages (e.g., Python, Node.js, Go, Java, or TypeScript)
  • Experience with modern front-end frameworks (e.g., React, Next.js, or Vue)
  • Solid understanding of relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL) and data modeling
  • Experience with RESTful API design and implementation
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes)
  • Experience with version control (Git) and collaborative development workflows
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently in a remote environment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in fintech, payments, or financial services
  • Familiarity with card network integrations (Mastercard, Visa) or payment processing platforms
  • Experience building systems that handle sensitive financial data with compliance requirements (PCI-DSS, SOC 2)
  • Experience with event-driven architectures, message queues (Kafka, RabbitMQ, SQS), or real-time data processing
  • Exposure to data engineering or analytics pipelines
  • Prior experience at an early-stage or high-growth startup
