Data Engineer-Production Support
Role summary
We are seeking a Data Engineer with production support responsibilities to join our team. This role involves supporting the ingestion, transformation, and distribution of data, requiring off-hours and weekend work. The candidate will perform analysis, troubleshooting, and resolution of production issues, identify bugs, and conduct root-cause analysis. Responsibilities include monitoring production activities, identifying process improvements, and developing scalable data solutions for real-time and batch data movement. The role also involves designing and developing database objects and ETL processes, and maintaining documentation. Proficiency in programming languages like Python and SQL, database platforms such as Oracle and SQL Server, and big data concepts are essential. Experience with SAP is a plus.
\*\*Must be a US Citizen\*\* \*\*A few overnights required and a Weekend Day required. Check in at 8pm, midnight, 4am and address any issues. Additional day time checks on Sat/Sun.\*\*
We are seeking a software engineer or ETL/data integration/big data developer to join our production support team. This person will be responsible for supporting the ingestion, transformation, and distribution of data to end consumers. This role requires off-hours and weekend support. Schedule TBD.
Candidate will also perform analysis, troubleshooting, and resolution of issues reported by end users. · Independently analyze, solve, and correct issues in real time, providing problem resolution end-to-end. · Solve problems by identifying bugs and root-cause analysis. · Work with internal development and operations team to escalate issues. · Monitor production activities/processes to ensure timely and effective reporting, tracking, follow-up, and communication for related incidents. · Identifying process improvement opportunities. · Develop scalable and reliable data solutions to move data across systems from multiple sources in real time as well as batch modes. · Design and develop database objects, tables, stored procedures, views, etc. · Design and develop ETL Processes that will transform a variety of raw data, flat files, xl spreadsheets into SQL Databases · Create/update/maintain comprehensive documentation. · Aptitude to learn new technologies and the ability to perform continuous research, analysis, and process improvement. · Strong interpersonal and communication skills to be able to work in a team environment to include customer and contractor technical, end users, and management team members.
Requirements Experience Needed: Programming languages, frameworks, and file formats such as: Python, SQL, PLSQL, and VB Database platforms such as: Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL Big data concepts and technologies, such as: Azure Synapse & Databricks SAP experience with the Business Objects toolset, Cisco Tidal scheduler, and SAP ABAP programming a plus
