About the Role

We are looking for a Senior Backend Engineer to help design and build the core systems that power our platform. In this role, you will architect and implement scalable backend services, build robust APIs, and ensure our systems perform reliably in production cloud environments.

This position is ideal for an experienced engineer who enjoys solving complex technical problems, building production-ready systems, and influencing engineering standards across a development team.

What You Will Do

• Design and build scalable backend services and distributed systems
• Develop and maintain REST and/or GraphQL APIs
• Create efficient data models and database structures
• Optimize system performance through query tuning, indexing, and architecture improvements
• Work with NoSQL databases such as MongoDB
• Deploy and operate backend services in cloud environments
• Lead implementation of backend components from design through production deployment
• Conduct code reviews and help maintain strong engineering standards
• Collaborate with product, design, and QA teams to deliver complex features
• Identify technical risks early and propose scalable solutions
• Improve development workflows and help drive engineering best practices

Required Qualifications

• 10+ years of backend engineering experience
• Strong experience building production-grade software systems
• Expertise in API design and versioning strategies
• Experience building REST and/or GraphQL services
• Deep understanding of data modeling, normalization, query optimization, and indexing
• Experience with MongoDB or other NoSQL databases
• Strong proficiency in Node.js (preferred) or other modern backend languages
• Experience deploying and supporting applications in cloud environments
• Ability to work independently while contributing to overall technical architecture
