Role summary

dbt Labs is seeking a Commercial Account Executive to drive customer acquisition and sales growth. This role involves managing the full sales cycle, from lead generation to closing deals, and organizing Proof of Concept (POC) implementations for dbt Cloud Enterprise. The Account Executive will also contribute to sales process development, collaborate with the product team on the enterprise roadmap, and become an expert in SQL, dbt, and enterprise data operations. A background in technology sales with at least 2 years of closing experience and a proven track record of exceeding targets is required. Experience with analytics, ETL, BI, or open-source software is preferred, as is knowledge of dbt.

  • As a Commercial Account Executive, you will be responsible for growing our customer base and setting the continued groundwork for sales at dbt Labs
  • Own the full sales cycle from lead to close for our prospects
  • Organize POC implementations of dbt Cloud Enterprise
  • Lead and contribute to team projects that develop our sales process
  • Work with product to build and maintain the dbt Cloud enterprise roadmap
  • Become an expert in SQL, dbt, and enterprise data operations
  • Be an active member of the dbt open source community

  • Excellent verbal, written, and in-person communication skills to engage stakeholders at all levels of an analytics organization (individual developer up to CTO)
  • Knowledge of or prior experience with dbt
