Role summary

deciBel Research is seeking an Automated Software Test Engineer in Huntsville, AL, to support the GMD Weapon System (GWS) team. The role involves designing, developing, implementing, and executing test plans for system-level integration testing. Responsibilities include understanding requirements, developing testing criteria, and utilizing C++, Python, and GUI automation tools like Eggplant. Experience with version control systems such as Gitlab or Bitbucket is required. A STEM degree with two years of experience or a Master's degree is necessary. A U.S. Government DoD Top Secret clearance is highly desired.

deciBel Research has an immediate opening for a Automated Software Test Engineer in Huntsville, AL.
Position Description
deciBel Research seeks a software test engineer to support the GMD Weapon System (GWS) team on the Ground-based Midcourse Defense (GMD) system. On the Ground Support Systems (GSS) IPT, you will be responsible for scheduling the tests for execution as well as monitoring, measuring, controlling, and reporting on the test progress, the product quality status, and the test results. Candidates must have the ability to adapt the test plan and compensate as needed to adjust for evolving conditions.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's degree in a STEM related field from an accredited university with two years' experience, or a Masters degree.
Experience Requirements

  • Experience designing, developing, implementing, and executing test plans, integration plans, and procedures to complete system-level integration testing
  • Ability to understand and interpret requirements and test guidance
  • Experience developing testing criteria to successfully satisfy requirements
  • Experience in C++ development
  • Experience using Python and other scripting languages
  • Experience using Eggplant or other GUI based tool set
  • Experience with Gitlab or Bitbucket

Special Skills Desired

  • Security+ certification
  • GMD/MDA Experience
  • Java experience/understanding
  • Experience using Cameo
  • Active, in-scope U.S. Government DoD Top Secret clearance
