Sign up to see compensation estimateWe are seeking an experienced Senior Software Engineer (SEG3) to support a large support services contract with the Naval Sea Systems Command.
Position Description: You will provide support to the Program and Deputy Program Manager of a 200-person contractor team that includes subcontractor personnel.
Work location and telework: The government work location is the Washington Navy Yard in Washington, DC. Contractors will be required to work at the Navy Yard and in nearby office locations up to 5 days a week. Teleworking may be possible with customers’ approval but will need to evolve as work relationships change.
Responsibilities and Duties:
Software Engineers research, design, and develop computer and network software or specialized utility programs. They may also perform the following duties:
- Analyze user needs and develop software solutions, applying principles and techniques of computer science, engineering, and mathematical analysis.
- Update or enhance existing software capabilities.
- Work with other functional disciplines (e.g., project management, acquisition, logistics, security, etc.) to integrate hardware and software systems, develop specifications, and performance requirements.
- Maintain databases within an application area.
Required Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
· Must be able to obtain a Secret Clearance
· Certification requirements: None
· Education and experience: There are three different ways to be qualified for this position:
- A high school degree, or a GED, and twenty (20) years of relevant Surface Radars, Electronic Warfare, EO/IR, Decoys and/or Laser software system/subsystem design, development, production and/or test experience, OR
- A bachelor's degree in engineering, scientific, or technical discipline and fifteen (15) years of relevant Surface Radars, Electronic Warfare, EO/IR, Decoys and/or Laser software system/subsystem design, development, production and/or test experience, OR
- A master's degree in engineering, scientific, or technical discipline and ten (10) years of relevant Surface Radars, Electronic Warfare, EO/IR, Decoys and/or Laser software system/subsystem design, development, production and/or test experience.
Preferred / Desired Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
· ActiveSecret Clearance
· Certificates: Project Management Professional (PMP)
· Experience:
o Agile Software Development
o Software Baseline Management
o Combat System integration
o Developer resource estimation and management
o Software configuration management
o Software systems engineering, testing and certification processes
o SW ECP development, ship change processes, maintenance, and SW fielding
o Expertise in software metrics, analytics, tools, and processes
Travel Requirements:
· Travel should be infrequent but include occasional trips to support government efforts at East and West Coast naval-centric areas like Norfolk, VA and San Diego, CA.

Pay: $125,000.00 - $200,000.00 per year
