Role Description

This is a full-time, remote role for a Software Security Engineer. The Software Security Engineer will develop, implement, and maintain security solutions to safeguard software systems and infrastructure. Responsibilities include conducting security assessments, identifying vulnerabilities, developing security strategies, and monitoring systems for potential threats. The role also involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure secure software development practices and responding promptly to security incidents.

Qualifications

• Expertise in vulnerability identification, penetration testing, and risk assessment
• Experience with secure coding practices and software development frameworks
• Knowledge of network security concepts such as firewalls, VPNs, and intrusion detection/prevention systems
• Familiarity with industry standards and compliance requirements like GDPR, ISO 27001, or NIST
• Proficiency in scripting and programming languages such as Python, Java, or C++
• Strong analytical skills to investigate and mitigate security vulnerabilities
• Ability to work independently in a remote environment and communicate effectively with team members
• Certifications such as CISSP, CEH, or CISM are highly desirable
• A degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related field, or equivalent experience
