Role summary

Disney Experiences (DX) is seeking a Senior UI Software Engineer to join the DCL Web Commerce organization. This role will focus on developing features for the disneycruise.disney.go.com website, working within an Agile team of 10 developers. Responsibilities include leading small projects, performing software analysis, design, programming, testing, and debugging for enhancements and new products. The engineer will design and develop highly scalable software systems and applications, interacting with users to define requirements and staying current with emerging technologies. A minimum of 5 years of related work experience is required, along with proficiency in Angular, NestJS, Amazon Web Services, and Redis.

We are responsible for the end-to-end digital and physical Guest experience for all technology & digital-led initiatives across the Attractions & Entertainment, Food & Beverage, Resorts & Transportation and Merchandise lines of business as well as other initiatives including MyDisneyExperience and Hey, Disney!

This role sits in the DCL Web Commerce organization within Technology & Digital for Disney Experiences. It works closely with Product Managers and Quality Assurance Engineers from across the company.

The Senior UI Software Engineer will report to the Technology Manager.

About The Role & Team:

  • Role will be developing features for the https://disneycruise.disney.go.com website.
  • Team is 10 developers in size.
  • Agile process is used, with embedded product and test engineers.

What You’ll Do:

  • Lead small projects encompassing analysis, design, programming, debugging, and modification of software enhancements and/or new products used in local, networked, cloud-based, or Internet-related computer programs
  • Responsible for performing testing and debugging of applications
  • Code may be used in commercial and end-user applications or focus on software and tools supporting infrastructure and technology platforms
  • Code at the component level
  • Work typically involves large or highly sophisticated software programs and systems
  • Possess a proven understanding of current programming language and technologies, with strong skills in writing code and completing programming tasks
  • Interact with users to define system requirements and/or necessary modifications
  • Conceive, design, develop, test, and implement software components, fixes, improvements, and/or new systems and applications
  • Design and develop highly scalable software systems and applications
  • You will be expected to stay up to date with emerging technologies

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum 5 years of related work experience
  • Comfortable working in an agile environment
  • Proficiency in Angular, NestJS, Amazon Web Services, Redis with a proactive demeanor towards continuous learning and skill development, and an interest in mastering emerging data engineering tools and methodologies

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Angular experience
  • NestJS experience
  • Amazon Web Services or equivalent cloud infrastructure experience
  • Redis experience

Required Education:

  • Bachelor's or foreign equivalent Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software, Electrical or Electronics Engineering, or comparable field of study, and/or equivalent work experience
