Senior Software Engineer
Role summary
We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join our Robotics & AI Software team. This role involves developing and implementing innovative algorithms for task and motion planning, as well as computer vision in robotic systems. You will contribute to the design, development, and testing of software solutions to enhance the efficiency and reliability of robotic software. Key responsibilities include symbolic task planning, robot kinematics, collision detection, optimization, and computer vision. You will also maintain software development best practices, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and document your work. A strong foundation in C++, Python, data structures, algorithms, and robotics principles is essential.
### Who you are
- Ability to lawfully access information and technology that is subject to US export controls
- Bachelor’s in Computer Science, Robotics, or related field with 5+ years of professional experience
- Proficient in programming languages such as C++ and Python
- Strong knowledge of data-structures, algorithms, and design pattern
- Fundamental understanding of industrial robotics including manipulator kinematics & dynamics, robot trajectory generation, and communications protocols
- Expertise with search algorithms, optimization methods, and constraint satisfaction
- Experience with open source robotic planning and manipulation software packages such as MoveIt and ROS
- Knowledge of unit-testing, CI/CD pipelines, and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes)
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams, including product managers & owners, engineers, and internal customers
- Master’s or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Robotics, or related field with 3+ years of professional experience
- Understanding of computer vision libraries such as OpenCV and PCL
- Experience using programming languages such as C#, TypeScript
- Explored using Generative AI in robotics
- Strong publication record and/or open source contributions in the field of robotics

- Develop and maintain software development best practices to ensure high-quality code, efficient testing, and timely releases
- Collaborate with other teams to ensure that our software integrates seamlessly with other software products
- Collaborate with senior engineers to understand project requirements and contribute to the development of software solutions for robot task and motion planning
- Design, implement, and optimize algorithms within our planning framework, leveraging your programming skills and understanding of robotics principles
- Assist in the integration and testing of computer vision software to ensure robustness and performance in real-world scenarios
- Document your work, including code, algorithms, user manuals, and procedures, to support knowledge sharing and future development efforts
- Stay updated on advancements in robot planning algorithms and technologies, and contribute fresh ideas and insights to the team
