## About this Job

The mission of the Secretary of State's office is to serve the public by meeting its legal responsibilities of collecting, securing, and communicating information that enhances commerce, ensures the integrity of Louisiana's elections, and preserves, presents, and makes accessible government information essential to Louisiana's operations and its recorded history.

The Louisiana Secretary of State is seeking to fill a vacant Election Program Manager position by promoting a current permanent employee.

## Minimum Qualifications

Two years of the required experience for the following minimum qualifications must have been in an office having the responsibility in the regulation and administration of the election process or the voter registration process:
Seven years of experience in election program activities or administrative services; OR
Six years of full-time work experience in any field plus four years of experience in election program activities or administrative services; OR
A bachelor's degree plus four years of experience in election program activities or administrative services; OR
An advanced degree plus three years of experience in election program activities or administrative services.
EXPERIENCE SUBSTITUTION:
Every 30 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as one year of experience towards the six years of full-time work experience in any field. The maximum substitution allowed is 120 semester hours which substitutes for a maximum of four years of experience in any field.
NOTE:
Election program activities include the following job functions: records management, voter registration, regulation or administration of the election process, forms management or design, or the maintenance, programming, or repair of election equipment.

## Job Duties and Other Information

Job Duties:

  • Maintain records, prepare reports, and generate correspondence relative to field operations.
  • Provides technical training and assistance to all staff on complex computer programming software for field operations.
  • Manages and coordinates with drayage contractors in the moving of machines to precincts.
