Role summary

Seeking a Junior Data Analyst for a Strategic Operations team, requiring 1-3 years of analytical experience. The role involves supporting operational and KPI reporting, including sales performance dashboards and business metrics, using data from Salesforce, Shopify, and QuickBooks. Responsibilities include data extraction, transformation, quality assurance, dashboard creation, ad-hoc reporting, and assisting with analysis. The position emphasizes process improvement, documentation, and cross-functional collaboration, with a focus on delivering clear, actionable insights to support strategic decision-making. This is an onsite, full-time role.

Position Summary

We are seeking a self-motivated Junior Data Analyst to join our Strategic Operations team. This role is ideal for a professional with 1–3 years of analytical experience who can manage assigned deliverables with periodic check-ins. The successful candidate will support operational and KPI reporting—including sales performance dashboards and other business metrics—while delivering accurate, timely insights that support strategic decision-making and performance optimization. The role will work primarily with data from Salesforce, Shopify, QuickBooks, and other operational datasets, and will collaborate with Finance-related data as needed. This position is not tied to month-end close deadlines.

Essential Tasks, Duties, & Responsibilities

Data Preparation & Cleaning

  • Extract and combine data from Salesforce, Shopify, QuickBooks, and spreadsheets.
  • Perform basic data transformations and ensure data quality and consistency.

Reporting Support

  • Manage reporting requests in alignment with established priorities and timelines.
  • Build and maintain KPI dashboards and recurring reporting (daily/weekly/monthly) for Strategic Operations.
  • Produce reporting on sales and operational performance, pipeline/activity (Salesforce), and e-commerce performance (Shopify).
  • Produce ad-hoc reports and visualizations for stakeholders.
  • Maintain documentation of KPI definitions and reporting logic; perform routine QA checks to ensure KPI definitions and results are accurate and consistent.

General Analytics Support

  • Assist senior team members and management with exploratory data analysis and segmentation.
  • Run basic statistical checks and summarize findings in clear, written form.
  • Help document data sources, definitions, and workflows.

BI Deliverables

  • Support end-to-end delivery of key dashboards/scorecards.
  • Partner with stakeholders to translate questions into measurable KPIs and reporting logic.
  • Monitor data anomalies and collaborate to resolve root causes.

Process Improvement & Documentation

  • Identify opportunities to automate recurring tasks and improve reporting efficiency.
  • Keep documentation up-to-date (data dictionaries, report specs, runbooks).

Collaboration

  • Partner with Strategic Operations and collaborate cross-functionally with Finance and other teams as needed to validate data and definitions.
  • Communicate results in a clear, non-technical way for business users.

General

  • Perform other tasks and duties as needed and directed by management.

Minimum Qualifications

Education & Experience

  • Associate’s Degree or equivalent professional work experience.
  • 1-3 years’ experience in a data, analytics, BI, or related role.
  • Familiarity with spreadsheet tools (Excel, Google Sheets) including formulas and pivot tables.
  • Experience creating visualizations in Tableau, Power BI, or similar is a plus; not required.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

  • Available to work onsite only.
  • Strong attention to detail and data accuracy.
  • Solid analytical thinking and problem-solving.
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills.
  • Comfortable working independently within established priorities under general direction.
  • Eagerness to learn new tools and grow technical skills.
  • Advanced Excel/Google Sheets (PivotTables, XLOOKUP/VLOOKUP, charts).
  • Basic understanding of statistical concepts, trend analysis, and KPI performance tracking.
  • Comfortable extracting data from systems and working with exports (CSV) (required); SQL experience is a plus.
