Job description
Dynamic Animation Systems, Inc. (DAS) is seeking Software Engineers (mid-level and senior) to become an integral part of our team conducting innovative software research and development on projects supporting US Army R&D objectives. Projects involve the investigation and application of leading-edge technologies and methods to create/enhance modeling and simulation software capabilities to fill training systems capability gaps. Efforts include all phases of the R&D software development life-cycle conducted using an Agile process. Technologies include the application of local LLMs in a tech stack that includes multiple programming languages (Java, C++, Kotlin, Python, JavaScript/frameworks), domain specific languages, and web-based technologies.
We are looking for candidates with a history of self-learning enthusiasm for new technologies, programming languages, and the application of ML/LLM technologies to novel problems.
Responsibilities:
- Analyze technology/capability gaps, research and develop innovative software solutions.
- Work with project leads (or act as project lead, depending on level) to define sprints and associated deliverables.
- Collaborate with other developers to design, develop, and optimize code.
- Conduct integration, test, bug fixes, and other software maintenance activities.
- Create technical documentation in support of findings and developed software.
Required Qualifications/Experience:
\*\*\*Must be a US Citizen with eligibility to obtain a US DoD security clearance\*\*\*
- Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science or related STEM field w/demonstrated academic or job-related background in software development.
- 4-7 yrs (Mid), 8+yrs(Sr) of job-related, applied Object-oriented software development experience using Agile methodologies and multiple programming languages (Java, C++, Kotlin, Python, etc.).
- Experience setting up and establishing development projects with software build tools in a collaborative environment.
- Experience with applying machine learning techniques and/or interacting with LLMs via API both in publicly-hosted and locally-hosted environments.
- Experience with Gitlab, Github, YouTrack, or other similar project tools.
- Experience with Git, Subversion, or other version control tools.
- Experience with networking concepts and protocols; both Windows and Linux operating systems.
Desired Qualifications/Experience:
Experience in one or more of the following areas:
- Modeling and Simulation domain.
- Developing and designing Domain Specific Languages (DSLs), or expertise in Programming Language Theory (PLT).
- JavaScript frameworks such as Vue, Angular, or React.
Candidates should be self-motivated and detail-oriented with strong analytical and critical thinking skills. Enthusiasm for software innovation and personal project experimentation is a plus.
Preference for candidates with active DoD Security Clearance.
Additional Salary Info:
- Salary range spans multiple levels.
- Salary offered will be commensurate with candidate's relevant level and breadth of experience for role they would fill.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $80,000.00 - $130,000.00 per year
