Position: Sr. Software Engineer Networked systems

Location:
Portland, OR - Onsite

Position Description

We are looking for a highly skilled and motivated Software team member that will be responsible for working with a cross-disciplinary team of engineers developing and maturing our rapidly growing family of counter drone technologies. This role will be involved with designing, developing, testing, and maintaining networking software for counter UAS systems. You will be responsible for implementing efficient, reliable networking solutions in constrained environments, connecting systems to allow for increased functionality. This role will work in a software development and manufacturing environment where projects are realized with the highest degree of commitment to quality and efficiency.

Required Skills/Qualifications

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Adaptable, eager to learn, and create, with a proactive attitude towards continuous improvement
  • Ability to work in a small team to rapidly prototype and develop new products
  • 7+ Experience working in software engineering with an emphasis on networking and network architecture
  • Experience with wired and wireless communication on embedded devices
  • Deep understanding of networking concepts and embedded protocol stacks (TCP/IP, UDP, UDP multicast, DHCP, …)
  • Proficiency debugging with tools such as Wireshark or tcpdump
  • Experience with Jira, and GitLab or Github and continuous integration tools

Preferred Skills/Qualifications

  • Experience with embedded debuggers like JTAG
  • Experience with mesh networking or low power WANS (LoRaWAN)
  • Network implementations in embedded operating systems (LWIP, Zepher)
  • Familiarity with secure communication standards (TLS, SSL, DTLS)

Education

Bachelor’s Degree or above in Computer Engineering, Computer Science or related field.

Clearance Level Required:

Up to 10%

  • Must have the ability to stand, climb, occasionally lift a minimum of 25 lbs.
  • Regularly required to crouch and reach to install/move equipment by bending forward at the waist or by bending legs and spine
  • Involves movement between departments, floors, and worksites to facilitate work.
  • May be performing physical activities including, but not limited to, heavy lifting and moving of items, climbing in and out of equipment, crawling, and working outdoors.

Other Requirements

It is an essential requirement for the person in this role to have a legal right to work in the United States and be eligible to obtain any required Export Authorization and DoD Clearance.

Salary:
$140,000 - $185,000 annually

Salary depends on relevant work experience, education, training, essential skills, and/or other factors such as specialized or high-demand professions. In addition to the annual salary, the position will be eligible for an annual bonus. The pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of salary or annual bonus.
