Senior R&D Software Engineer – Networked Electronic Warfare Systems

LA or Irvine (US) | $140,000 – $200,000

A pioneering technology company developing advanced wireless communications and networked sensing systems is seeking a
Senior R&D Software Engineer
to join its growing engineering team. This role offers the opportunity to work on highly sophisticated software powering next-generation electronic warfare and tactical networking solutions.

You will work at the intersection of
embedded systems, distributed networking, and real-time processing
, helping design and build software that enables coordinated sensing and effects across multiple platforms in complex environments.

The Role

- Design and develop
high-performance embedded software
for advanced networked systems
- Implement and maintain
modern CI/CD pipelines and DevOps workflows
to support rapid development
- Translate complex
signal processing and networking algorithms into efficient real-time C/C++ implementations
- Work closely with
hardware, RF, and systems engineers
to integrate software with complex subsystems
- Lead
code reviews and contribute to architectural decisions
, ensuring high-quality and scalable software
- Support system integration and validation in both
lab and field environments

Requirements

- Bachelor’s degree in
Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related discipline
- 5+ years’ experience
developing software for embedded systems
- Strong programming skills in
C/C++ and Python
- Experience working with
embedded Linux environments
- Familiarity with
DevOps practices and CI/CD tools
such as GitLab CI, Jenkins, Docker, or Kubernetes
- Experience using
Git, Jira, and agile development methodologies
- US Citizenship required
and the ability to obtain
US Secret Security Clearance

Desirable Experience

- Software development for
Electronic Warfare, radar, SIGINT, or tactical communications systems
- Integration with
FPGA-based systems or RF hardware / software-defined radios
- Knowledge of
cybersecurity principles and secure coding practices
