Envestnet is seeking a Platform Engineer II to join our Technology department. This is a remote role, with hybrid work available if candidate is within proximity of specific office location.

Job Summary:

As a Platform Engineer II, you will contribute to the reliability, scalability, and performance of our production systems. You'll work alongside senior engineers to build resilient platforms, optimize infrastructure, and apply automation to reduce toil and accelerate delivery. You will collaborate with Development, DevOps, QA, and Product Management teams throughout the software delivery lifecycle. This role involves monitoring, troubleshooting, incident response, and proactive improvements to keep our systems highly available and secure.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Support 24x7 day-to-day operations of the platform with a focus on performance, uptime, and security. This includes on-call rotations.
  • Execute well-defined projects and tasks, managing your own workload with guidance from senior engineers.
  • Participate in incident response, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis alongside more experienced team members.
  • Contribute to infrastructure projects including requirements gathering, implementation, testing, and documentation.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and communicate status, risks, and progress clearly.
  • Partner with development teams to maintain and improve scalable, fault-tolerant systems.
  • Support observability practices for monitoring, logging, and alerting (e.g., Splunk, New Relic).
  • Embrace automation-first approaches, contributing to Infrastructure as Code, CI/CD pipelines, and configuration management efforts.
  • Collaborate with global teams to ensure seamless hand-offs and continuity across time zones.
  • Adherence to and application of Envestnet legal, compliance, risk, business continuity and administrative policy within the role and department(s) including the timely completion of training & awareness, affirmations and testing as requested.
  • As part of the responsibilities for this role, you will understand and readily support Envestnet's established corporate business practices, policies, internal controls and procedures designed to create value or minimize risk.

Required Qualifications:

  • 5+ years managing production systems in high-availability, 24/7 environments.
  • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
  • Solid system administration skills for Active Directory Windows based environments
  • Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to work effectively under pressure.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent work experience.
  • Preferred Qualifications:
  • Interest in AI-assisted development tools and willingness to incorporate them into daily work.
  • Experience with Microsoft SQL Management
  • Experience with AWS services and cloud-native architectures.
  • Exposure to Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation).
  • Familiarity with CI/CD tools (Gitlab, Argo, Jenkins, Octopus) and DevOps principles.
  • Exposure to containers and orchestration (Kubernetes, Docker).
  • Familiarity with configuration management tools (Ansible, Chef, Puppet).
  • Understanding of storage systems, SAN best practices, and virtualization (VMware, Citrix).

Salary:

The annual base salary range for this position is $92,000 to $115,000.
