The engineer will also be responsible for gathering feedback, providing solutions using Azure services, acting as an escalation point, and suggesting process improvements. Key responsibilities include managing IaaS VM lifecycle, utilizing Azure monitoring tools, implementing Infrastructure as Code, and mentoring junior engineers. This is an onsite contract position requiring 10+ years of experience, with a specific focus on Azure and Windows/Linux administration.

Role Overview:

We are seeking a
Senior Azure Cloud Engineer to act as a subject matter expert for Azure environments supporting the Financial Risk & Management Systems (FRMS) business unit. The engineer will lead Azure deployments, troubleshoot complex cases, and collaborate with Professional Services and Product teams to improve build pipelines and internal tools.

Key Responsibilities

• Act as Azure SME for Hosted Operations Team

• Gather feedback and provide solutions utilizing Azure services

• Serve as escalation point for complex Azure cases

• Participate in planning meetings to suggest systemic/process improvements

• Identify pain points in Azure deployments and propose solutions

• Maintain and enhance client environment configurations

• Organize and deliver training sessions for new workflows/procedures

• Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance

• Participate in on‑call rotation

• Build and run applications in Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS)

Mandatory Skills

• 8+ years of Azure platform experience

• 3+ years of Windows/Linux administration, engineering, automation

• Experience with CI/CD concepts/tools (Harness, Octopus Deploy)

• Strong understanding of OSI Model in cloud computing context

• Expert in IaaS VM lifecycle management (troubleshooting, backup/restore, imaging, scaling)

• Expert in Azure Monitor (diagnostic settings, Log Analytics, Application Insights, KQL queries)

• Expert in Azure data migration tools

• Expert in Azure App Service (diagnose/remediate resource contention, log analysis)

• Expert in Azure Resource Manager (ARM) templates

• Expert in Terraform automation

• Strong communication, organization, and deadline management skills

• College degree or equivalent experience

Preferred Skills

• Experience with Azure Policy and Security Center

• Proficiency with AWS management (EC2, SNS/SQS, RDS) or willingness to learn

• Experience with distributed management systems

• Scripting skills: Bash, Python, PowerShell

• Windows administration experience
