Role summary

The Test Engineering Supervisor will oversee production test setups, perform system-level testing, and troubleshoot strategic projects and embedded hardware platforms within the Aerospace & Defense industry. This role requires 10 years of hands-on test lab experience in an Aerospace, Defense, or Space environment, with a strong emphasis on leadership, communication, and problem-solving. The supervisor will guide the Test Engineering group, mentor team members, manage test assets, and ensure adherence to aerospace and military standards and RFP processes. Responsibilities include defining test requirements, leading data analysis, and maintaining lab organization and equipment.

The Test Engineering Supervisor’s role is to setup, perform testing, and troubleshoot strategic projects, and embedded hardware platforms in addition to providing guidance and leadership to others within the Test Engineering group. This individual will work under the guidance of the VP of Operations and Mission Assurance and in collaboration with other production areas.

Essential Functions:

  • Provide direction on production test setups, tests, and measurement equipment to conduct system level testing and troubleshooting
  • Monitor maintenance and test environmental chambers in our facility
  • Supervise schematics and “debugging” circuit boards and systems
  • Instruct other on providing clear and effective communication on status of projects
  • Define, document, and provide leadership on test requirements
  • Lead configuration management of test assets and setups
  • Supervise a variety of test and measurement equipment including but not limited to oscilloscope, power supply, multimeter, and other input/output electronic test devices
  • Provide guidance on electrical and software engineering concepts including basic electrical wiring, remove/replace connectors, and mechanical aptitude
  • Mentor test team on setups and troubleshooting a PC
  • Lead set up and maintain labs for fast paced testing/production environment
  • Lead test data gathering, storing, retrieving and analyzing
  • Follow, adhere, and provide coaching to all applicable manufacturing procedures and documentation
  • Perform and train others on board and system level testing
  • Establish and supervise organizational system in labs
  • Write and train others on new test procedures

Skills/Qualifications:

  • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills

  • Ability to work collaboratively with other engineering disciplines
  • Creativity and self-motivation to solve unique and complex technical problems
  • Desire to lead teams and be promoted to higher levels of responsibility
  • Knowledge of Microsoft products including Windows 7, Word, Excel, etc.
  • Excellent oral and written English skills
  • Board and system level troubleshooting
  • Aerospace or Military standards knowledge is required
  • Aerospace or military project RFP process knowledge is required

Required Education/Experience:

  • 10 years recent test lab hands-on experience within an Aerospace, Defense or Space Environment.

Preferred Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or other engineering related field.

Pay: $100,000.00 - $115,000.00 per year
