EthosEnergy is looking for a dynamic Electrical Engineering Manager to take charge of a cutting-edge 450 MW power plant consisting of twenty-four (24) Cummins reciprocating engine driven generator sets, five (5) Baker Hughes LT16 mobile gas turbine generator sets, six (6) GE LM6000 gas turbine generator sets, and 200 MW of BESS. This is your opportunity to play a pivotal role in bringing a major, greenfield energy project to life and ensuring its long-term success.
The Electrical Engineering Manager leads a multidisciplinary team of Engineers and technical staff who is responsible for providing strategic and technical direction for all engineering activities across the facility. This role oversees electrical system reliability, capital project execution, maintenance planning, compliance with regulatory and industry standards, and support for operations and maintenance teams. The Electrical Engineering Manager drives continuous improvement, ensures safe work practices, and delivers high quality engineering solutions that support plant performance and long-term asset health.
#### Job Responsibilities
- Recognize the potential in others and build a strong, proactive, engaged, and highly qualified multi-disciplinary Engineering and technical services team.
- Provide expert technical direction on electrical systems including switchgear, relays, transformers, generators, motors, and protective systems.
- Lead troubleshooting and resolution of complex electrical and instrumentation issues, ensuring timely corrective actions.
- Oversee development and review of electrical maintenance strategies, including PM programs and reliability-centered maintenance.
- Conduct and lead Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA) activities to mitigate recurrence of electrical failures.
- Support performance monitoring by analyzing operational data, identifying trends, and recommending improvements.
- Lead electrical engineering scope for capital projects, including design review, technical specifications, and cost estimating.
- Ensure compliance with NERC, NFPA, NEC, OSHA, and other applicable codes, standards, and regulations.
- Coordinate contractor activities, ensuring adherence to drawings, specifications, and schedules.
- Prepare and manage project documentation, including engineering packages, test plans, and commissioning procedures.
- Work closely with Operations and Maintenance teams to provide guidance on electrical system reliability and performance.
- Mentor technicians and junior engineers by sharing technical expertise and supporting professional development.
- Communicate complex technical information clearly and concisely to leadership, peers, and cross-functional teams.
- Champion a safety-first culture by ensuring safe operating practices, proper LOTO procedures, and equipment integrity.
- Evaluate risks and implement controls to enhance reliability and reduce downtime.
- Participate in emergency response activities and provide clear leadership in high-pressure situations.
#### Required Skills / Knowledge
- Strong technical expertise in power generation electrical systems, protective relays, high/medium voltage distribution, and electrical equipment maintenance.
- Advanced troubleshooting and analytical skills related to electrical failures and system behavior.
- Proficiency with electrical modeling tools, engineering software, and standard office applications.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; able to convey complex concepts effectively.
- Strong project management skills with the ability to balance multiple priorities.
- Demonstrated ability to lead both independently and within cross-functional teams.
- Safety oriented mindset with a strong understanding of electrical safety standards.
#### Experience
- Minimum 7–10 years of progressive experience in electrical engineering, preferably in power generation or heavy industrial environments.
- Experience leading technical teams, engineering projects, or maintenance programs.
- Desired “greenfield” experience with the development of a power plant.
- Desired experience with either Simple or Combined Cycle Power Station or both.
- Desired experience with aeroderivative gas turbines.
- Desired experience with reciprocating engine driven generator sets.
#### Education Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline required.
- Professional Engineering (PE) license preferred but not required.
#### Physical Requirements
- Ability to walk, reach, climb, stoop and lift (up to 50 pounds).
- Ability to work at heights and enter confined spaces.
- The position requires occasional travel.
