In this role, you’ll work across PHP and Java services, develop and consume RESTful APIs, and help shape technical solutions that directly impact product performance and user experience. You’ll collaborate closely with cross‑functional partners, leverage modern AI‑assisted development tools, and play a key role in ensuring that our systems are robust, maintainable, and built for long‑term success.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop clean, maintainable, and well‑architected code across PHP and Java services, adhering to industry best practices and internal coding standards.
  • Design, implement, and maintain RESTful APIs that power product features, internal tools, and integrations with external systems.
  • Participate actively in code reviews, providing constructive feedback that promotes code quality, performance, and knowledge sharing across the team.
  • Troubleshoot and debug complex issues in production and development environments, performing root‑cause analysis and delivering reliable, timely fixes.
  • Leverage AI‑assisted development tools (such as Cursor, GitHub Copilot, and Claude Code) to accelerate implementation while upholding rigorous quality and maintainability standards.
  • Validate and refine AI‑generated code through manual review, testing, and performance evaluation to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and long‑term sustainability.
  • Collaborate closely with cross‑functional stakeholders—including product managers, QA engineers, and non‑technical partners—to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
  • Contribute to technical documentation, including system design notes, API specifications, architectural diagrams, and internal engineering guides.
  • Participate in Agile development workflows, helping to estimate, plan, and deliver features as part of iterative sprint cycles.

Qualifications:

  • 3–5 years of professional experience in software engineering or backend development.
  • Strong hands‑on experience with PHP in production environments; familiarity with Java and willingness to deepen expertise.
  • Proven ability to design, build, and consume RESTful APIs in service‑oriented architectures.
  • Practical experience working with relational databases such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, or similar systems, including query optimization and schema design fundamentals.
  • Proficiency with Git, modern branching strategies, and collaborative version‑control workflows.
  • Comfortable integrating AI development tools into daily engineering practices, with the ability to critically evaluate AI‑generated output.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts in clear, accessible terms to non‑technical stakeholders.
  • Excellent writing skills and attention to detail when producing technical documentation, specifications, and internal knowledge resources.
  • Must reside in and be authorized to work in the United States.

Pay Range - $100,000 - $110,000/yr USD

The compensation range reflects a data-driven estimate of starting base pay for full-time (40 hours per week) employment. Individual pay may vary based on geographic location, job related skills, knowledge, experience, education etc.
