Manufacturing Test Engineer
Role summary
Feather Robotics, a VC-backed startup, is seeking a Manufacturing Test Engineer to advance general-purpose robots. This role involves designing and building end-to-end manufacturing test processes, developing software for testing and data recording, and creating SOPs and documentation. The engineer will also lead technicians, build a manufacturing operating system (MOS), create inventory management software, and perform root cause analysis on production failures. Qualifications include a relevant engineering degree, experience in large-scale manufacturing test design, documentation, technician leadership, proficiency in C++, Python, or Rust, and knowledge of PFMEA and data analysis.

Responsibilities:
- Design and build end to end manufacturing test processes and continuously improve Feather production.
- Develop software to run tests and record test data.
- Create SOPs and documentation for test procedures for Engineering Technicians.
- Lead and manage technicians during production processes.
- Build and develop manufacturing operating system (MOS).
- Create inventory management software to serialize and record test results to each unit.
- Root cause production testing failures and create documentation for fixing the issues.
- Creating DOEs to build pass and fail parameters for test procedures.
Qualifications
- Bachelors or Masters in Software/Electrical/Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent).
- Experience designing and building test processes for large scale manufacturing lines.
- Experience in manufacturing documentation and SOPs.
- Leadership experience working with Technicians.
- Basic CAD skills is a plus.
- Proficiency in necessary coding languages to build an MOS system including (C++, Python, Rust).
- Organization skills in documentation and process recording.
- Proficient in PFMEA and data analysis.
